Rust removal & paint

Hello out there.....recently bought a one owner, low mileage clean 2003 , but does have some heavy surface rust on drive shaft & rear end / diff & axel....that I want to clean off & paint black....any suggestions ?

I replaced my driveshaft with an aluminum piece and since I am in the process of rebuilding the rear end, I completely disassembled and sent it to a powder coater. It is a bit pricey but the finish will last for years.

If you don't want to go that route, pull the rear end, blast it or wire wheel the housing and shoot it with some chassis/roll bar paint.
