Question MM Rear Grip Package

My suspension is stock right now. What do you guys think this package will give me in performance? http://www.maximummotorsports.com/mmrg.asp

I want more stability in the rear going around corners (accelerating through them), a better launch, and some high speed stability. The car kind of scares me right now with how easily the rear forgets it should stay in the rear. I notice it when braking hard in a turn too.

Thanks in advance.

Re: MM Rear Grip Package

I have allways thought that my Mach's rear suspension is light years ahead of my Fox GT's, but there is room for improvement. I would check with Maximum Motorsports on clearance issues with aftermarket exhaust systems, and fitment of the panhard bar. Have heard some have issues there.

A tire softer than the stock Goodyear "Iron Eagles" would be first on the list. Followed by a good set of springs and shocks/struts, then LCA's.

Re: MM Rear Grip Package

I have the MM panhard bar and I had to have the tailpipes cut and slightly re-routed for the bar to fit. The tailpipes were 2 1/2" however, I don't know if the stock tailpipes need to be cut.

Re: MM Rear Grip Package

Thanks for the heads up about that. How do you like the panhard bar? Would you recommend it?

I already have 18's w/very good tires, but I need more. I am used to driving C5's, C6's, and M3's and IMO the Mach needs a lot of help to get anywhere near those cars. I don't need it to be quite that good, but I need it better than it currently is.

Re: MM Rear Grip Package

The panhard bar really helps in cornering. You may want to also invest in a torque-arm, then you will have the ultimate set up. The torque arm is my next investment. I also have tokico adjustables with coilovers, mm castor/camber plates, kenny brown matrix subframe connectors, mm lower control arms, aluminum rack bushings, adco front sway bar, eibach rear lowering springs and baer bump-steer kit.

Re: MM Rear Grip Package

I have the MM Max Grip Box modified as follows:

+ Heavy Duty Torque Arm (supercharged)
+ Bilstien Race-valved Coil-overs
+ Chrome CC Plates

- Strut Tower Brace (won' fit due to blower tube interference)

Comments:

It' a different car. The back end doesn't "steer" the car anymore (used to -whenever it wanted to, normally all at once, at the apex of the turn). The stock setup "may be light years ahead of past Fox body suspensions", but if you drive hard at all, you're gonna scare yourself into driving like grandma. The rear end can move UP TO TWO inches laterally under load - that'll cause you to "change lanes" without your consent.

Torque arm, the coil-overs, tubular K and control arms and all other adjustable hardware: The parts are all extremely well engineered and are race ready/proven (by professionals - not me). Exhaust compatability: The MM system/parts WILL limit your options. You may have to modify even the exhaust parts that will fit. MM will help you - they are a class act. ITS WORTH IT. I promise, after I took my first hard turn, I immediately forgot the effort I put into making the exhaust fit. (Borla sold, UltraFlow bought and modified, Bassani X modified, etc...). Smiles. Smiles. Smiles.

I am a MM believer. PM me with your concerns/questions.

Nuke.

Re: MM Rear Grip Package

Wow, I wonder how much modification I will need if I get a Panhard bar with my Magnaflows?
