Re: College Football back in full swing!

I know the big bowl games are on New Years Day, but is anybody watching any of these early bowl games?

A couple have been interesting. Navy game. Big brawl at the BYU game. Watching Penn State now - they need an offensive coordinator and a good O-line coach, badly!!

Re: College Football back in full swing!

I saw the last few minutes of the Nebraska-USC game. I don't understand why they didn't kick a 48 yard field goal to tie it on their 2nd to last possession. On the last drive they had 17 seconds to, at best, get it 40 yards down the field and do what? Kick a field goal to try and tie it. ????????????????

FSU got rolled! I love it. Can't stand Winston or Jimbo for that matter. Then, after the gun has sounded, the vast majority of the FSU team walked off the field without shaking hands. Classless program.

I bet Winston wishes he had gone into the draft after last season, his value has to have tanked big time after his continued off the field BS and making a lot of mistakes this year

Re: College Football back in full swing!

There is no joy in Mudville (aka Waco) today as the Mighty Casey has struck out.

The #5 Baylor Bears lost 42-41 to #8 Michigan State in the last 30 seconds.
Ironic in that the Offensive MVP was a losing QB (Bryce Petty) with a Cotton Bowl record of 550 yards passing. And the Defensive MVP was a losing LB (Taylor Young) with 15 tackles and one interception.

Lowlight of the game was an 18 yard TD reception for 6-foot-7 and 400 lbs offensive guard LaQuan McGowan.

It was a bad time for the odd-numbered teams as the #1-3-5-7-9 teams have all LOST.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Yeah, Paterno will return to being the winnest Division 1 coach in the near future. Penn State is getting back the 112 wins they were wrongfully stripped of. NCAA admitted they did not have the right to do it and took advantage of Penn State's desire to put everything behind them. Now it's time to put JoePa's statue back up. The $60mill fine stands but the money will remain PA.

MSU took care of the Ducks last night. Good game, good D, great goal line stand by MSU in the 2nd quarter. Keep rolling Spartans!

Dodged a bullet from miss. State last night. Looks like we have a one man team, and it ain't the QB.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

disappointed to hear what has been going on at Baylor recently
and just after they seemed to have developed a viable football program

since Penn St just had a similar debacle, they should have known it would not be proverbially swept under the rug

I would like to hear what Art Briles has to say. ESPN makes it sound really bad.

Baylor had just turned a corner in that they were getting the players that used to go to Texas. That will no longer be the case. Baylor has been set back 20 years when keeping the score close was a victory.

It's just like NASCAR racing, you can't be successful if you're not stretching the rules somewhere.

Been a heck a day so far, and Lambeau field has not been kind to my Tigers as of right now.

Big Ten stomped your butts... well not really stomped.. ha ha. Wow what a game eh. Sorry for your lose, your team just could not get started. They pushed a bit but not enough.

Might be one of the Badgers biggest wins...

My Spartans won last night.. might be a long season for them as they did not look great vs Furman. Time will tell

Looks like Les Miles is OUT at LSU. Could be an opening for Art Briles (Baylor).

Re: College Football back in full swing!

He and offensive co-ordinator Cam Cameron are both gone. Orgeron is the interim, and I don't see why he couldn't do the job.
Caught a number of people off guard, we thought he'd be around until the end of season. But the clock management situation showed its ugly head again.

ugh, Florida is a dumpster fire for football this year, both college and pro. UCF is at least showing some improvement over last year.

Gotta hand it to them they have really come on the entire season. Cleaned the clock of my Spartans.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Heard that there might be some college football games on TV today. Can't believe the Ducks pulled off what they did last night. The BCS guys are probably going nuts right now!
