wheels

Okay I'm getting ready to give my car a good detaling tonight before the Grand Rod Run this weekend in Pigeon Forge and I was wondering what I should use to polish the wheels with. Any ideas?

They have a clear coat of paint on them. I just wax mine with what I use on the car, then just wash them same as car body.

This works well at shows one has to drive to, because many times it's difficult to wash them well at the show, and with a wax coating, they are easy to clean up by wiping them down with dry cloth.

What about the wheel wells? Is it OK to use Simple Green in there?

Wheel wells are the most overlooked area. To make your car stand out you MUST clean and dress them. I have a dedicated sponge that I wash my wheel wells with. After they are dry you can use a number of things to make your wheel wells look new again (they are plastic right?). I use Stoners More Shine Less Time Tire stuff.......Its an aerosol and I just spray it all in my well. LOOKS FANTASTIC!!!!!! YOu can use Armorall and stuff like that too. I'm telling you, the first thing I look for in a well detailed car is whether they took the time to clean and dress there wheel wells.
