Re: A job i can do at home
I have a firend who is retired vet (medical as well). Went back to school for some type of filming. He does shorts, commercials, movies. He learned about shooting angles directing lighting etc and is being offered a job at ABC once he graduates. Six figure job.. Military paid for his education on top of it.
Will the military pay for your education towards a career? If so, what are you passionate about? Educate yourself and go do it. If I am not mistaken you should have a significant opportunity to a career through proper education. That will provide your family with the life style I am sure you would want to give them. |

Re: A job i can do at home
What me and a friend do for extra cash:
Go on Craiglist, theres always people needing mechanics to fix thier vehicles on a budget. Well, figure out whats wrong and get the parts from a local scrapyard. Clean them up good and tell the person its a used part. Charge half-3/4 of what they got quoted at a shop. Make good money and everyone is happy. Word of mouth keep us busy. And a Ad in CL looking for work needed doesnt hurt either. Example: One guy had a 89 Cherokee, front axle shaft broken. Went to JY and got an axle shaft for 20 bucks. New bearings and such from AZ for another 20, and fluids etc. I had about 80 bucks in the job said and done. They got quoted 450 bucks parts and labor from thier shop. I charged the guy 300 bucks. Profit was around 200 after driving to get parts etc..Scrapped his old parts for a few dollars after i was done. Took me half a saturday, went to his house in the AM and saw what i needed, straight to AZ to order/pick up bearing and such, then an hour at the JY ripping the axle out. Had his jeep back in 4x4 before 2pm. started about 8:30am. Been doing this for a while now. Its fun and a very flexible schedule. Dunno about you but i have ALOT of tools from over the years, so there was almost no initial investment for me, as i allready had all the tools and equipment to do most jobs. |

Whatever it is, Ash, you've got to be certain it does not risk your only optic...
Working on cars or in an industrial area may put you at much more risk than sitting behind a desk/computer. Not saying limit yourself by any means, but please be careful whatever it is you choose. |
