Re: College Football back in full swing!

as much as i agree about this being the lamest schedule i've seen them have; Texas isn't the only team to figure out strength of schedule is not what gets you anywhere in the Big Crock of $h!t system used by NCAA division 1 football.

OK...BCS standings are out and we're still in the top 10!?! Woo-hoo...I think, and even ahead of USC with both having two losses. I think this is gonna be messier in the coming weeks.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Well, I have a very weird combination of two teams I pull for.

Appalachian State fan and graduate, but have been a Michigan fan since I was in elementary school. Talk about one bittersweet game back in '07

Michigan's season has went down hill unfortunately. I hope I'm wrong but I'd say this will be 2 years in a row without a bowl game.

ASU plays for the Southern Conference title this weekend against Elon, should be a hell of a game.

How can UT be ranked 2nd in three national polls and then come in third in the Bull Chit Standings? Sounds like a conspiracy to me...

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Ya UT is really getting shafted. Maybe they dont have the strongest schedule this year, but a teams performance also says something of how good they are when they BLOW OUT just about every team they have played this year. They need to completely rework the system, because the current system the NCAA uses SUCKS!

Ouch..they killed themselves yesterday...I'd blame that loss on the coaching staff for not being ready and extremely poor clock management. If they had had their act together they would have had at least 15 more seconds on the clock to set up a game winning field goal...

Hate to see a team lose that way, but it does help my Nittany Lions!!

Re: College Football back in full swing!

I nearly threw up in the last seconds of the game. There were literally people in my apartment complex screaming in the parking lot after that embarassment. Miles gave that game away, and didn't seem fazed in the least. The Ark. game next week is gonna be another sad chapter, btu one that might spell the end of Miles at LSU. Poor clock management was only one part of that debacle, the usually impressive defense did not show up, and the offense was just that...offensive.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

I've been thinking ahead...

If Pitt were to lose to WV or Cincy and drop down a few slots, how many folks from PA. would pay good money to see a Pitt-Penn State matchup in a bowl game? These guys used to be one of the premier matchups in CF and they haven't played one another in years. Some really smart bowl committee outta be considering this.

Glad they pulled through against Arkansas.
The Saints are looking good this year too.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

The Ark. game scared the he!! out of me because it was ending just like the Ole Miss debacle. Only better clock management kept it form having the same outcome, that and a missed field goal by the Ark. kicker.

And yes, the Saints are da' bomb this year!

Re: College Football back in full swing!

No games here this weekend, but we're scheduled to get a 'winter mix' weather on Friday night and Saturday. I'll probably check out the SEC championship game, but we've got our local Mustang club Christmas party that night. Always a good time.
Stay warm and safe everyone!

Re: College Football back in full swing!

I'm not a fan of Alabama or Texas. That said, I hope Alabama kicks Texas up and down the field all night long.
Texas got a early X-Mas present last night with no time left on the clock, OH wait 01 sec. left on the clock.
What a shame for TCU and Cinncy.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

I'm hoping that Texas can put up the numbers it needs to bean Bama. Once Florida went down I was hoping to see Texas lose (which it really should have) only to show the BCS how goofball the whole thing is turing out to be.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Texas has lost only 8 games in the last 6 seasons in a major conference.
They were jilted by the system last season and didn't let it happen again this season. (Choosing a team they beat head-to-head to go to the conference championship by 0.0128???? WTF)
Anybody thinking they don't belong in the Rose Bowl has got to be kidding me.
And if the person running the clock last night didn't have money on the game, this wouldn't even be a question.

Now that being said, Greg Davis needs to be slapped. He is great at recruiting talent. But there is an issue when everyone in the stadium knows what play is going to be called and where it's going.

I love ESPNs talking heads and their comment that the Texas coach was using Ler Miles' clock management!

you can obviously see there was one second left when the ball hit the ground. doesnt really matter. BAMA is going to win it all
