Mach 1 vs RT Challenger

So there's a guy at work with a completely stock challenger RT auto with chrome 22's or 24's talking smack about how he would beat my stock Mach 1 5 speed and another co workers stock 370 Z... Both me and the owner of the Z both laughed and told him he would not stand a chance in hell against us in the 1/4 but he still thinks he could win, what do you guys think the out come would be?

Re: Mach 1 vs RT Challenger

Make him do the power to weight ratio(4150lbs approximately, horribly low revving 376 hp), and then yours(3465lbs and 320hp). Its not a huge difference, but it's gotta make him think twice.

If they dont give pause after processing the numbers, then there truly is no hope for them and you must not only beat him, but skull drag them to defeat and ask him what happened afterward, over and over and over again.

Re: Mach 1 vs RT Challenger

His rims alone will kill him...those suckers will make it seem like he's running a horribly low gear...I can only laugh at the guys with "dubs" that think their cars are fast....

Re: Mach 1 vs RT Challenger

I ran one a while back, on the drag strip of course, and we took off from a dig, and I was gone. I just kept putting car lengths on him. You should have no issues, and win by a large margin. They are slow.

run it, theyre pretty slow.

note to self about 20-22" wheels.... my buddy in his lightning, laying down 673rwhp got his butt handed to his my and SS silverado one 22s. it had a built ls7, twin turbos and laughing gas. that was one sick truck with some ugly wheels. lol

Won't even be close! Saw this exact match up first hand! Except the RT was a manual. 03 Mach destroyed it!

A guy at work put 20s on his 03 stock GT. They slowed him down so much a V6 out ran him.

Spank him and gloat like an ole peacock.

Dont they have a test a tune at the dragstrip outside Lowes speedway?

Yeah they do but their test n tune schedule is done for the season... looks like we're going to have to run in the 1/8 at Mooresville dragway, only problem is their test n tune is on Thursday nights when we're at work... so hopefully we can get some time off to run so I can shut his mouth lol

Re: Mach 1 vs RT Challenger

The 1/8th will be even more in your favor since his gearing will be so out of whack =)

Re: Mach 1 vs RT Challenger

I raced a 5.7 auto challenger with a flash tune at the strip earlier this summer. I was completely stock at the time other than 285 nitto NT555 street tires on the back and a MGW short shifter. Pulled him by well over 2 car lengths. I'd have him put his money where his mouth is.

Re: Mach 1 vs RT Challenger

Not stock, but I ran one whose owner was running his mouth. I shut down at the 1000' mark, and beat him so bad I could see the whole car in my rearview. Something like a second and a half.
