Key Fob

I have had my 03 since 2007. I have only one key and was never given a key fob by the dealer I bought it from. I see the fobs on ebay all the time. If I were to get one, how do I go about programming it to the car?

Re: Key Fob

If you have the owners manual, it should tell you how in there. If not I know on my 02 Explorer I had to turn the key in the ignition a bunch of times fast then hit the lock/unlock button on the FOB and thats how it programs it. It might be different for our machs though. Good luck.

Just thought if you don't have an owners manual, I will look in mine when I get home from work tonight and see if it says how and post.

Re: Key Fob

What he said, turn the key to on and then off (don't start the car) I think 5 times then I think the car locks itself to give you the signal to hit the button on the fob. Something like that. Also, if you only have one key and you want a second one you have to get it from a dealership, they have a chip in them and you can't start the car with a walmart duplicate.
