AH!! The chrome diecast. Gotta love em'. I have some NASCAR ones that are what you call, color chrome, and I have a 24k gold plated diecast also.

Re: Die -cast cars

A few more pieces recently added to the collection...
The Shelby 1:64s in chrome are both 1/1,000 pieces given out at the SEMA show.
The Aston Martin DBR9 in Gulf Racing colors ran at LeMans.

Re: Die -cast cars

If anyone here collects 1:64 diecast from mid 1990's -2000 I have about 1,000 to sell at a very reasonable price. Racing Champions mostly, trucks, sprint cars, lots of others. My brother-in-law had amassed a huge collection before his passing. Email me if you want details.

Re: Die -cast cars

Both were sent to me signed from Shelbys Childrens Foundation. I bought the red GT500 Super Snake on eBay, which is the only place you could get it at the time. It has been discontinued right after I got mine, and long before the scheduled run of 427 units had been sold, as you can see mine is #108. The 427 Cobra Super Snake was sent to me by them when another piece I had sent them was damaged and they returned my item (signed), slightly damaged in no way due to their fault, but they did contact me ahead of time and sent the Cobra as a way to help with the pain of my treasured poster being wrinkled by the shipper. Both have CSCF certificates of authenticity.
I do have a one-sheet ad that Carroll signed for me in person, but naturally there is no cert. or anything other than my word that he did it.
In addition, I have two books signed by him, a photo I took in Dearborn of one of his hats signed by him (and Richard Petty, his black hat is also in the photo), and a different Daytona Coupe poster signed by him.

Hi John,

LOL ! ! I don't think I have ever been called an "uber-collector" before Thanks for your kind words on my collection. I took a look at the link above and had to laugh. The collection pictured belongs to a good friend of mine here in Wisconsin. It's such a small world these days. Pat's collection is amazing. The rare and unusual items he has picked up over the years is something to see. And to top it all off, he is in the process of building a ground pounding '65 Mustang fastback and he is also restoring his '68 Shelby GT500 KR fastback.

Take care and have a great week all !

Scott

P.S. - Here are pictures of my two Mustangs ......

Re: Die -cast cars

Hi All,

I took some time today and posted a bunch of new pictures of my Mustang collection on ....

http://www.garageforums.com/forums/s...hp?t=85&page=8

The new pictures are a few posts down on this page. If you haven't seen the post before, you might want to take a look from the beginning. I have a Mustang toy collection that is now over 4000+ items. Let me know what you think of it. Thanks.

Take care all and have a great day.

Unflipping believable. Very, very nice. I think I would call it more of a museum than just a collection. Congrats.

I was thinking the same thing. That's more of a collection worthy of a toy museum than anything else. You could charge people to view that collection! That's very impressive. How many years has that collection been growing and what was the "first" item?

Thanks. I've been seriously collecting items since 1992. I built my garage in 2000 because I was running out of room in my basement. Plus I wanted a climate controlled garage to put my full size Mustangs in. As for my first collectible Mustang, I honestly don't know. I've always had some Mustang diecast around since I was in my early teens. I'll have to think about it and see if I can remember what it was. Take care.

Re: Die -cast cars

Glad to see you posting up, Scott. As you can see there are a lot of fans of your collection here. I wasn't aware you were already a member of the Registry, but obviously we haven't heard much from you in a while. Now get to posting, you've got a lot of catching up to do!
(do take the time to chack out earlier posts in the thread, there's a lot to see, not all of them Mustangs)

That is truly a master collection you have assembled. Do you ever tell people you have over 4000 cars parked in you garage?

Well that's very cool. I might have to stop in to see the collection sometime. When I go home to the farm in South Dakota, I sometimes go through Wisconsin to get there. It all depends on the scenery I want to see. I either take I80 through Iowa to I29, I90 through WI/MN to I29 or I94 to the twin cities and then shoot across MN. Depending on where you're at you may be nearly on the way there or the way back. Even my wife will appreciate your collection.

You are more than welcome to stop in for a tour of the Mustang garage. I'm located about 35 miles west of Milwaukee, just north of I-94. Just give me a few days notice to make sure I don't have plans. Take care and have a great week.

Scott

P.S. - If anyone else is in my area or coming through my area, you are more than welcome to contact me and stop by for a tour and talk Mustangs !

Since we were just in South Dakota last week for Thanksgiving and hunting season it will be awhile, but I'll definitely let you know when we get through.
Cheers,

Re: Die -cast cars

Auto Art did the '03 TR 1:18 diecast. I don't know if any of the regular diecast stores online have them, but they show up pretty regularly on eBay. The AB one is the hard one to find and bring strong money, the TR (as were all of them) were in the $60 range when new. Seconary price aare similar if not a little lower for most colors other than the AB.

Yep, mine is an AutoArt. I have TR x2, CO, AB x2, OW x2 and none are for sale. I look for them all the time at swap meets which is where I found the 2nd AB and both OW's. It's going to get expensive to pick up another AB, the word seems to have gotten out.
