Tire Size Recommendation for 18x9 & 18x10
Just bought 18" FR500 wheels for my 03 and am not sure which size tires I should be looking for.
Fronts are 18x9 and rears are 18x10 - stock ride height, car is not lowered. Thoughts? |

The tires that usually come with the kits are 275/35/18 and 285/35/18. But from what I've read you can toss a 305/35 (30?)/18 on the back and still be good which is what I plan to do for my next set of tires.

265/35 up front and 295/35 out back. A 305 out back would look nice.

I've been reading the same things. Leaning towards a 265/35/18 front with 305/35/18 rears. |

Re: Tire Size Recommendation for 18x9 & 18x10
If you aren't racing I'd go with 265-35-18 or 275-35-18 in the front. 285-35-18 for the rear. It'd be ideal to keep the overall tire diameters the same or at least close. If you're wanting some bulge or a wider stance, then a 295-35-18 would be an ok choice.

Does it plow through corners with the different tires sizes?

Re: Tire Size Recommendation for 18x9 & 18x10
I was torn between 265 or 275 up front, in the end the 265 looked a bit too narrow for my taste in the many pics i looked at.
I went 275's up front and 295's out back... |

Re: Tire Size Recommendation for 18x9 & 18x10
I have the tires but still waiting on the wheels. They take 6-10 weeks to arrive. I should have them in 2-3 weeks and then need to get them mounted. I hope it is a mild start to the winter and i should be able to take the cover off the car and get them on next month. I will post pics.

Re: Tire Size Recommendation for 18x9 & 18x10
TTSleen and NoSloCoupe both look great!!
Question for you both: With those 18"s on their did you guys still go with any aftermarket springs? Both your cars look lower tan factory but that may just look that way with the larger wheels. If so any clearance issues or recommendations on which you went with? Thanks Jeff |

H&R SS springs(factory isolators) with Bilsteins, no issues at all....didn't even roll the lips.

UPR coil overs on the front (175# springs) and Raceland coil overs on the back. Rear fender lips were rolled also to clear the new wheel/tires on the back.
