New Seat Upholstry

I was thinking of changing out my seat upholstry since my driver seat is torn up from getting in and out and was looking at the TMI Sport R500 upholstry. I dont really like the racing seats on the market and these have a factory look to them. was wondering what you guys opinions where on them.

Re: New Seat Upholstry

I just wish someone would repop the original pieces. :I understand that the originals were made in South America and that company went belly up. I think the unique upholstery is one of the things that calls back to the 69/70 Machs and should be able to be properly preserved. I know I need mine redone, just trying to figure out how to do it properly.
Those seat covers look nice, but they're call outs to the Shelby GT500 interior packages.

Re: New Seat Upholstry

For me, I need the Fat Boy version of the original seats. The bottom seat bolsters are not made for a big butt. I like the shape of this seat you posted just not the color combo's. I agree it looks a lot like the GT500, I really like the Mach 1 seats weave design and color scheme just not the size.

Right, just like the GT500. The factory seats had the stripes to match the stripe on the car, hence the various colors. Not hating or trying to talk you into or out of anything, just want you to know the why and where of the stripes.

Re: New Seat Upholstry

The problem for me is that the comfort weave replication is not even close to the original Ford piece. The plant that made the original seat covers went out of business and no one seems to know where the molds are, or are willing to get them and properly replicate the OEM covers. Also, the TMI seat covers require different foam.
