Eaton Swap.....

Posting different threads all together in one thread to combine some valuable info for those going this route.

These threads have some useful info, links or parts list that can be used. Instead of searching through pages of info, here's the good one's that I found. If anybody care's to contribute please post your link and I will copy and paste in this first post to keep them all together.

Shaker bracket pics

My eaton swap writeup

http://www.corral.net/forums/showthr...sid+terminator

http://www.extremehp.com/modules.php...er=asc&start=0

http://www.mach1registry.org/forums/...ght=eaton+swap

http://groups.msn.com/0397CobraConversion/photoalbums

This is a list of parts that I put together after looking at multiple pics and from what I have gathered that will be needed. Some are small parts that you will get when buying the S/C or in package deals that you get. Makes a great checklist when making sure you got everything needed to complete the swap. See page 2 for pics of each part. It's not complete yet but will be when I get a chance to take pics of everything.

Re: Eaton Swap.....

Ok here goes...
6020 - Timing cover gaskets. LH RH and Center
9E926 - Throttle body
6F066 - Supercharger assy.
9A589 - Throttle outlet that bolts to supercharger. IAC valve bolts to it
9F593 - Fuel injector
12B579 - MAF sensor
9H307 - Cobra fuel pump
9002 - Cobra Fuel tank
9424 - Lower intake manifold
6B209 - Upper main tensioner assy.
9N491 - Hose assy for intercooler
8K226 - Intercooler
9D475 - EGR valve
9D476 - EGR valve gasket
9D477 - EGR tube from valve to manifold
6312 - Crankshaft pulley/damper
8501 - Water pump
These numbers are the "base" numbers. The center number of the part number. They tell what exactly the part is.

Oh and for the list with part numbers and prices in the pics I posted, the first price is the cost, the second price is Ford list, and the third price is my price, 10% over. Some parts I put on there below cost because I found a few for 50% off or similar discounts.

Re: Eaton Swap.....

So what kind of total cost are we looking at excluding the blower itself that can be bought cheap from ebay.

Also is a cobra tank really needed? Cana boost a pump or focus pump be used instead?

I work in a project with the whipple supercharger, intercooler, manifold from Cobra 2004 for a Audi V8 engine, and I need some parts like the water manifold.
Somebody know the difference between:
2R3Z 9N494 HA
2R3Z 9N491 DA
Why the diference in prices?
It's only the manifold or have the 2 tubes to fix the intercooler?

machgsxr, did you say you were going to start selling these kits?

Where have you been finding your parts?

Are you going to continue to keep taking pics and comparing the part # with them?

I will have 1 or 2 for sale shortly. I have to get some money back first or have someone leave a deposit so I can finish building them up.

I have been getting alot of parts new from Ford and from people going to a Turbo setup. You have to be quick and know what to look for. You can find people going turbo not in for sale ad's but in posts where they talk about it.

I have at least 50 pics I need to download to the puter, but I have been either busy working on the car or @ work that I have not been able to post up.

Re: Eaton Swap.....

Hmmm...seem to have a little problem here. I have the stock belt (verified the part number on it) and I have the stock pulley, but the belt will NOT fit. I tried and tried and its just too short or something, or is it possible one of the idlers is too big or in the wrong spot? Are they all the same size, and what are the part numbers?

Re: Eaton Swap.....

Ok I've read the installation but what happened to the knock sensors after the embossments were cutdown? Are the relocated? Just left off? If that's the case isn't that a bit risky? You've taken away a safety protection device and now running a major risk of detination. Or are you relying on a proper tune for protction?

The knock sensors MUST be turned off in the tune, otherwise it will throw a code. They are removed and left off. A proper tune is all im relying on. The cobras don't have knock sensors, so that's something to think about.
