low dyno numbers with tune

These dont seem right. I realize every dyno is different but... I got a pic of the sheet if some one can resize and post it.

Does 312hp and 328 Ft lbs seem low for my mods?

Uhhhhh no, thats about exactly what I am making on the motor, with basically the same mods.

*edit* actually, after looking more closely, thats EXACTLY what I am making, with the exact same mods, only different brands.

Re: low dyno numbers with tune

I was expecting like 320 hp and 335 ft lbs with the tune, maybe my expectations were too high

Re: low dyno numbers with tune

I wouldnt worry about 8hp. Just as long as its a safe tune. If a 100 rwhp car is off by 8rwhp, then there is something wrong. But not with a 300+rwhp car.

Re: low dyno numbers with tune

no. those #'s look right dude. with the o/r pipe you lost backpressure. so if you get some cats, youll gain some power back.

but, same as i, i love the o/r pipe i cant live without my o/r xpipe....it's o/r or nothing haha

Re: low dyno numbers with tune

Yea I figured my torque was a little low because of the o/r x pipe.

also 4.30 gears will make the dyno read a little lower.. it doesn't mean you're making less power. If you had the stock 3.55's you'd probably read 320/335 like you wanted. Someone else can chime in and explain better than I can how that works.

Re: low dyno numbers with tune

ive heard that happening too...high gears will do that....just like the IRS stealing some power as well...but OH WELL!! good and bad comes with everything...

04 mach 1 white K&N with mass air screen removed, diablo chip and magnaflow catback, I kept the factory H-pipe. 300 hp and 333 ft lbs torque at the wheels. Some of that stuff like long tubes and x-pipe without cats you don't need unless you've got ported heads and big cams. For instance I tried the PHP intake spacer and didn't like it, softened up the bottom end. I see alot of guys move all the power up top but unless you're running 4.30 gears it does you little good. I put long tubes on a GT and hated them, killed the torque. Bigger is not necessarily better. It's all about velocity of the air flow through your motor. Shoot for good power throughout the rpm range and use all your gear. Mine pulls really good against the 3.55's. Lot's of snap and torque. Good luck on sorting your combo paul

Re: low dyno numbers with tune

Yea im going for 1/4 mile performance. I will take a little torque loss from the long tubes for the trap speeds that they give me. Also, im running the 4:30 gears so a little is lost there. Plus comparing your dyno numbers to mine is relative to the dyno that our cars were on.
