power windows

Can anyone share if they had issues with intermittent working driver side window. Swapped out the switches so it's not that, hard to believe it is the motor itself so relays? Comments please.

On my red Mach I had an intermittent issue where the drivers side wouldn’t work when it was hot out but I would bang on the door through the door panel and it would start working. It needed a motor

Re: power windows

I've had intermittent issues with both side, mostly the passenger side. Worse in hot months, I believe it was tracked down to a piece in the system that acts as a pressure sensor to keep fingers from getting caught in the window whne operating.I've not pulled off my door panel to brave the fix, but if you do a search on the registry you'll find more discussion about the issue.

Re: power windows

Every intermittent issue Ive dealt with is the motor. It's just like a starter - hitting it with a hammer and it works again. The motor has a dead spot on it, bumping it sometimes gets it past that then it works again.

My passenger window is starting to do it

Re: power windows

I replaced the pass side motor after replacing the switches. Same issue's except mine liked to not cooperate on rainy days. It was the motor.

Re: power windows

When I bought mine from the original owner two years ago, he told me the driver side window intermittently wouldn't work.

In the two+ years I've had the car, the window hasn't failed a single time.

I do try to NOT leave the car parked with the glass up as hard as it'll go.

Re: power windows

wow, thread brought back to life, as an update mine is still going strong after flipping the bushings, but like others have said, when it is parked in the garage I never have the window all the way up, just barely cracked to prevent constant pressure on the bushings.
