Had to get your interest with the title!

My long-time friend who still lives in West Virginia, where I am originally from, went through a terrible separation with his wife a few months ago. She about violently left him and took thei newborn baby and dissappeared. He's now going through divorce, and he's been going through a whirlwind of rollercoaster emotions..

He keeps posting weird "desperate" things on facebook, of which I offer comforting words, etc..

So last night he's texting me, asking how I'm doing, and blah blah blah. Then he mentions he's got a killer vacation planned for the end of September. I ask him where he's going, he says "Republic of Modova"

WHAT? Where the He|| is Moldova? He says it's between Romania and the Ukraine..

I immediately ask him "What in the world is in Moldova? A new bride?" and his response was "Possibly, I am going there to meet a girl named Tatyana"

At which point I decided a phone call was warranted, rather than texting!

He answers and the first words out of my mouth, like in any Judd Apatow movie fashion, are: "Are you retarded???"

He goes on to tell me that he met her on a dating site, and they've talked via video chat on Skype, I tell him it's not real, and it's really a male student from Nigeria named Mutombo that he's really talking to, because I now have to make fun of him, what kind of friend would I be if I didn't make fun?

So he tells me she's a teacher there, she's pretty, blah blah blah.

I ask him about his trip, he said the flight is $895, he has a hotel for the week, nicest hotel there, for $300 for the week. I told him that he could probably live like a king there for a grand

. He says if things go well he's going to bring her back with him..

I then proceed to advise him he needs to make sure he goes there with a cell phone that has international capabilities with a carrier that has coverage there, and that his dad is prepared to pay ransom in case he gets kidnapped by militant geurrillas and taken to Nigeria to be an underground sex slave

So I told him I would support him, but I have the god given right to make fun of him..

I also made many Borat references and impersonations. My girlfriend was getting a kick out of it too!.

Guy at work recently divorced is talking to the russian women. He even started eating russian food and stuff trying to look macho. He shows all these pics of hot half nekked women and hes by no means in their league.

Another guy I know, married a russian woman, she was HOT!!!!, he was ugly as homemade sin. He got her mom and sister over here, they had a daughter. He left for work one morning and she had the movers waiting. He came home at lunch and she was packed up and gone.....She had just gotten her US citizenship.

My tour guide on a recent trip to Niagra Falls, said that the scam up there is to have an American man "sponsor" a woman from an Eastern country with the intent to marry after X amount of time . During that "sponsorship" period the dude was responsible for whatever trouble the woman got into. The guide said he'd been approached many times and that a buddy had fallen for it. Because my young daughter was with me he didn't say exactly what happened but i'm sure you can imagine.

I hope your buddy doesn't go. It's the oldest scam in the book. Those aren't her pictures that are being sent. It's some big guy with a beard that is copying them from a file. He may be facing a real danger. Imagine going to her house and it's 4 guys with clubs.

Rusisan women take no prisoner be warned because if his american wife got p*ssed at him it will pale by comparison if he ticks off a russian woman from what I have seen and heard.

i think your buddy is just hurting inside from all the things going on with his ex wife and so he isn't really thinking straight and just tryin to do things to feel in the hole. i think your going to have to let him fall on this one so he can learn when he gets back up. some people are just so hard headed and if they are set on doing something, they will do it, i wish him the best

Oh, no doubt he's going through ups and downs of emotions. He has claimed that he has video-chatted with her on skype and talked to her on the phone plenty, so there's no doubt it's a female.

He's pretty much set on going, already has a plane ticket and hotel booked..

At this point, all I can do is wish him luck and make fun of him!

Iv been in his shoes at my young age.. I actually flew to mexico to meet a girl (got really sick of getting played by slutty ny girls) I have no problem getting girls... I just got sick of locals... I eventually moved to maryland for a girl... he is just going crazy from the b.s she put him through... I dated a girl from russia once though... went to be in a arguement.. woke up tied to a bed with her on top of me.... not in a way id like either

I can believe this. This guy I work with is married to a Russian chick. She would'nt marry him unless he became a strict vegetarian. So he did. I can just imagine how much other stuff is her way or the highway. Screw that noise.
