For today; Since most of us here have Mach 1's I thought it might not be a bad idea for those who don't know to find out a little about what 'Mach 1' means.
How fast is Mach 1? Who is the term named after? Who is credited with being the first person to break the sound barrier? What kind of aircraft did he fly? What did he name his aircraft?

For today; what TV show in the '60's was honored with a special safety award for showing its occupants always fastening their seat belts when ever they got in the car to pursue the bad guys? (Hint; this has nothing to do with Mustangs, but there is a Ford connection. Bonus; what is the Ford connection?)

Correct, boy wonder! The Ford connection is: the first TV Batmobile was built off of the 1955 Ford Futura concept/show car. Later cars were built off of Galaxie chassis using a variety of Ford engines.

You guessed right.
Here's one that's not really Ford related, but should be good for a grin or shock at the water cooler. The Mustang has always come with either 4 or 5 lug wheels/hubs. What car came with 8 lug wheels? What car came with 3 lug wheels? What truck came with 7 lug wheels? This is all in reference to post war cars, and actually go back no farther than 1960. Have fun!

Not sure on all of them. Wasn't the 8 lug car a seventies Grand National? I know the 7 lug truck was the light duty 3/4 ton Ford F250 in 97-on. No idea on the 3 lug car. Anyway, I tried.

8 lugs on early Pontiac Catalina, I think.
3 lugs belong to Peugeot and maybe Renault, too.

Not too bad!
3 lug; Renault LeCar. 8 lug; Pontiac Catalina, HD brakes from the early 60's. What appeared to be the center of the wheel was actually the finned brake drum. 7 lug truck; 97-00 Ford F-250 light duty (same body as the F-150). Just try finding wheels for any of the things!

Although it is general knowledge with most Mustangers that the Boss 429 engine was put in the car to homologate it for various racing series, namely NASCAR, there were also two put into Mercury Cougars. What other Ford products had the Boss 429 engine listed as an option in their sales brochures, although none were ever built?

OK, the two were the Torino and Mercury Cyclone. Neither had a production version built with the big Boss, but both showed them available in the sales brochures. They even went as far as stating that the Boss9 cars would be equipeed with a special hood scoop for the power brake booster, like on the Falcon XY GT Phase II.
For today, the '65 and '66 shelby Mustangs had a particular part on the car when produced (at Shelby's request) that was specific to the 6 cyl. Mustang. What was it (actually there were two of them) and why?

How about front fenders so they wouldn't have to weld up the holes for the 289 emblems?
I still read this thread. The question you ask are always a challenge. Keep 'em coming.

That's the answer I'm looking for!
For today,(and this is news to me, so you know this is trouble! ) According to Ford literature, there was a Drag Pak and a Super Drag Pak, what was the difference?

You broke an axle in a 'locker' 9 in. rear end? That's almost as hard as breaking a Hurst shifter!
Both of the Drag Paks had an external oil cooler which explains the high capacity of the oil. The regular Drag pak shows to be a traction lok 3.91 ratio while the Super Drag Pak is advertised as a 4.30 Detroit Locker. This was the first time I'd ever heard of them described differently was in the Ford/Mercury Performance catalog.
