Re: Mach: Black Wheels or Silver Wheels?

Thanks! That is going to look great on your car. The calipers will really set it off and the black wheels will really let the calipers pop.

Sucks that you got hit, but cool that you are able to get parts that you want to replace it. I have thought a lot about putting a terminator bumper up front to get the extra big opening for my intercooler.

That is awesome that you have all those parts just waiting for the car. It's gonna be fun putting them all on.

That is what I am running on the back of mine now, afs 17x9's. They are wrapped in 275/40/17 MT DR's.

Re: Mach: Black Wheels or Silver Wheels?

The black looks great on the black car. Personally I like the black wheels with the chrome lip on the black cars, but the black rims with the black car, especially the Mach's with the blackout kits and such, the all black rims look GREAT. But again, IMO, any car other than black, I'm not a fan of the black rims.

Re: Mach: Black Wheels or Silver Wheels?

I like both but if you're going to do the black wheels ...imo...you need to black out the rear sidemarkers and tint the headlights...also...if you do the honeycomb trunk panel...that would really set it off. Make sure to post up pics if you decide to go black.

Re: Mach: Black Wheels or Silver Wheels?

The taillights are nightshaded. I got smoked headlights on order with HIDs. The rear is going to have the painted black out panel (no honeycomb). And it has the mustang valance stickers in black. And going to put some black chrome tips on it. I"ll be sure and post pics as soon as I get it back.

Re: Mach: Black Wheels or Silver Wheels?

My local exhaust shop wanted me to pay 200 for some tips. I decided ebay route and I'll weld them myself and save $160

I'm not a fan of the black wheels. Looks like a plan jane car that has lost its hub caps and is to cheep to replace them.

Re: Mach: Black Wheels or Silver Wheels?

I did the chromed out everything on my 02 GT. I have gone for more of a sinister look with black rims with a polished lip on both my 04 Orange Cobra and 04 DSG Mach1. It's all in taste-Shane

Re: Mach: Black Wheels or Silver Wheels?

Powdercoating should be fine. People powdercoat valve covers and brake calipers all the time so I'm sure it would be fine on exhaust tips.

Re: Mach: Black Wheels or Silver Wheels?

Guys that powdercoated black, what kind of finish is it? Like a gloss black or a matte? Not sure which would flow the best with the car.

Re: Mach: Black Wheels or Silver Wheels?

Its gloss. They said it was 120% gloss or something. Its shiny for sure.
Glad I didn't got matte black, it would look cheap IMO

Re: Mach: Black Wheels or Silver Wheels?

never was a fan of black wheels but i always had that opinion based on pictures ive seen, not from a real life visual. If you NEVER saw black wheels before in real life, believe me, you cant warrant an opinion until you do (well ofcourse you can but trust me on that). The one thing about black wheels is pictures simply do not even come close to justifying the true look of them. I NEVER IN A MILLION years would think I would ever own a stang with black wheels until i bought one with them on. In the pic i thought they were hurtin and figured i just change the wheels. Not happening now.. the minute i pulled up i was hooked. Theres hasnt been one friend, family etc that liked the black wheels in the pictures.. but when I bought the car, everyones opinion changed instantly the minute they saw the mach for the first time in person.

Re: Mach: Black Wheels or Silver Wheels?

Black is okay. But, it hides what the style of the wheel is, 'till you get up close to it. I'd go for the Silver. Also, black has an unfinished look to it.
