Flsc

So after being a pipe fitter and welder, mechanic , doing flsc was a no brainer.... well i now realize doing them with jackstands suck. Looking back on my career and thinking WOW i have done way worse in crap locations laying in mud getting rained on.

I now know my level of tolerance is exponentialy proportional to either pay or helping someone else!

Re: Flsc

This aint my first day at the rodeo lol. Full tank of fuel jack standa under shock mounts in back and front on coil spring seats (this is how i fit my fluffy self under it anyways ) then added 260 lbs ballast to the drivers seat and worked the suspension to settle it to normal ride height. Just like setting up race cars i have worked on in the past.

Crap, I forgot the 200lb ballast in my seat! I did the same thing years ago and never thought about my weight.

Its probably a waste but and not needed lol just habit from doing suspension set ups and corner weights. i figured it would help bow the floor plan a little before welding the brace since i already sit high in the car

I didn't either. My 130lbs of badassedness probably wouldn't flex the chassis/floorpan in even the slightest way anyhow.

Props to mikeracing though for doing it the best way possible.

Aren't you old enough by now that you should be adding some weight? You are making us fatties look bad, yup, all your fault!

I'll just compensate with more boost.

Yes, there's always that. And with a turbo it's just too easy to crank it up.

Op- which connectors did you use? Paint or powdercoat? Like them so far?

Re: Flsc

Well i have been busy with work and had a few minutes today to do the passenger side.

Welded drivers side with .023 and 100%co2 and was a bunch of headaches getting it to run smooth with the 2 different thickness metals.

Passenger side .035 c25 smoothed out the running issues and made a mistake of forgetting the seat bracket. P.s. it was a nightmare to get it in. With the evap and brake lines in the way. I just put primer on will take pictures after the white goes on.

Re: Flsc

Now onto reinforcing the torque boxes and swapping out the lower control arms with mm extreme lowers. And still deciding which set of uppers to use.

Re: Flsc

Unless I'm all backwards looking at your photo, I've never seen FLSC extend so far back. I've installed a few sets, and they always end here. There is also a weld plate included with the connectors for the rear at the forward lower control arm mount.

Those are the regular subframe connectors not the maximum motorsports full length subframe connectors

Re: Flsc

Well finished drivers side lower torque box reinforment and realized my bone head mistake. 2 am shopping on lmc for lower control arms was a bad idea. I ordered -98 lower control arms ( 1/2 inch hole instead of 14mm)
So now waiting on a 9/16 drill bit.

P.s as a side note weldthrough primer dosent agree with tig welding.
