Exclamation I need Crankshaft help please!

I purchased an 03 Mach 1 recently with a knock coming from the engine. While in the process of rebuilding the engine I found that it had spun a bearing. I took the crank to the machine shop and he found a crack so it is worthless. The problem is that they no longer sell the forged 8 bolt crankshaft to my knowledge. What is the most cost effective solution to this? Will a cast crank work with my 5 speed if I try to keep the RPMs under 6,000?

I believe there are 2 aftermarket suppliers for the forged crankshafts - eagle and pretty sure Manley just released one.

Might be worth it to buy a full stroker kit.

if you were ever gonna build it for anything, yes. Just basic bolt ons (no nitrous or blower) Id have to image a cast would be fine.

Look around for a Cobra crank. I've seen them pop up for $400 or so.

Re: I need Crankshaft help please!

go forged and upgrade the rods and pistons while you are at it; may as well go stroker at that point. I like mine.
