Re: Mach ! Resurrection
While prepping was in it's final stages I took the opportunity to do the drivers seat cushion, never done one so here goes...lol
You can see the lower was all worn out on the left side of the seat, typical wear as its the most used.. as you can see the lower is universal for either side, same for the upper, lower just had to trim for the power seat switch. Easy enough upper cushion was ok but since I had a new one its going in.. The seat cushions have a Velcro strip so they attach themselves to the covers, just need to work them into place. Turned out pretty good, still need to work the covers and work them in, the local set trim person said I did good for my first ever...

Re: Mach ! Resurrection
Ah paint is done.....who hoo!!
took a littler longer than expected...they tried to match the paint with the water base and couldn't get close after several attempts with test strips the paint rep had to come in and digital snap a photo and the end result was that since the car was paint in the mid 2000 they used solvent base, so when we mixed up a sample and it was a perfect match! Here are some shots.. The parts were painted late Friday evening, so not gonna install the front bumper till Monday as the paint is still soft and any hard handling could leave some finger prints in the clear..lol so better to wait...head light bezel and front clip to be all aligned Monday. Sticker also to be installed on lower front fender Monday as well.... Only bad part is we are expecting 15 cm of snow Monday..so the car will have to wait till Thursday before I can take her home..

Re: Mach ! Resurrection
Here she is with the front end all together..... Quick polish and she's ready for home... Once home I can finish off some gauge install, shaker and run the coolant hoses to and from the rear trunk mount cooler tank.

Re: Mach ! Resurrection
Man I'm jealous of those tires! Wish nitto made them in a 305 35 18.

Re: Mach ! Resurrection
Nice!! Keep up the good work.
Mine's in the shop getting plugs, front end freshening and some other mechanical attention that I've neglected of late. After that, I'll go after more cosmetics.

I went with the Nitto as the compound is soft and once heated up stick pretty good, I run these on my Shelby 315/35/20, My marauder 305/45/18 and now the Mach 315/35/17...from my experience the nitto drive and handle better even designated as a drag radial.

I like the fact that it's a 27.6 inch tire vs the 25.6 the 35 series is... I know AFS says they will be re popping the 18X10.5 mach this summer and may jump on a set as I already have 4 of the AFS 18X9... Re: Mach ! Resurrection
yeah a 40 is too tall for my setup, for a number of reasons. Its cool though, my 555R takes care of business. The nt05r tread design is awesome though and i know they hook a tad harder if you get them hot enough.

Re: Mach ! Resurrection
Some updated pics....
AFS wheels are on, Love the way they look!!! Didn't go without any hitches....with running the IRS rear the upper IRS bracket bolt interferes with the wheel, actually the bolt head rests on the side wall of the tire and lucky for me I checked or it would have cut the side wall! I used a Button head bolt which in the end gave me the clearance needed, trick was that finding a 12mmX1.75x 100mm button head was difficult, but in the end it all worked out. One more item checked of the list. I think the only thing that may hold me back is this COVID 19 crap as I'm close and my Tuner is in Michigan and the boarder is closed and won't be able to cross till this blows over....

Re: Mach ! Resurrection
Pony is a little big for the space imo. If you like it that's the only thing that matters though. Everyone is going to have an opinion. Ive got one that's a little smaller if you're interested. Paid $45 from lmr iirc.

Re: Mach ! Resurrection
Ok well the shaker mounting brackets are all done!!
believe me the quick pics don't show how long this took.... from cardboard templates to finished product was 8hrs! also heres a shot of the rad cover on as well, just finishes it off nicely! also installed a new cowl cover, man it looks so much nicer than the original faded one. another item knocked off the list, next on the list is the coolant reservoir and lines, already have it mocked up so this should take more than 2-3 hrs as all the wiring is done.....pic to follow when done.
