TOB or clutch or both?

Today I left work went to the gym. As I parked, I smelled burned rubber or plastic and thought i ran over something. After my workout I get in the car and as soon as I start it it makes this rattling noise from the trans. I start driving and every time I am in neutral it make that noise. Once I put it in gear it is fine. Then after about 1 mile , it is getting harder to put in gear and at a stop sign I cannot put it in gear. Luckily I was on top of a hill so I coast out the road. Pop the hood and my clutch cable is super lose. Tow the car home pop the dust cover under the trans and the fork seems to be stuck. Shouldn't I be able to move the fork by hand? The TOB also looked multicolored like heat damage.
So long story short, 115k miles, clutch was replaced at about 70k. What now? Drop trans and hope clutch is fine?

Re: TOB or clutch or both?

If the fork won't move back and forth with the clutch cable NOT attached, then I'd say new clutch/TOB time. Unlatch the cable and see if it moves. Also, might want to check the tranny fluid

Re: TOB or clutch or both?

thanks for reply. Dropped it and the TOB was blue from heat damage. Seized on sleeve also, had to pull it off. The fingers on the pressure plate were also damage from the heat, bluish color.
I have decided now is a good time for a t-56 swap. I just got done taking my t-56 to the shop to have it rebuilt.
I am not putting the 3650 back on. I had a heck of a time getting the top 2 bolts again, even though last time I put ant seize on them. Instead of going through that every 60k miles I am switching to the cobra t-56.
