Not too bad as is.
It already feels stronger than my Mach 1, which is no slouch.

It's a 2004 Body in white.
A brand new body from Dearborn assembly.
No VIN.
This is it when I bought it and was bringing it home on 2/21/2005

FRPP USED to have the body in white available,
but I don't think they are available any more.
They were tough to find even back then.

Re: New Project "R" thread

Now working on weatherstrips and glass.
Boring but necessary stuff.
I cannot get over how nicely this car drives.
A local LM service director saw it for the first time,
and drove it last night, and was very impressed.
He said it drove like a brand new car (which it basically is).
Felt pretty good to hear that coming from a man I respect a great deal,
as he is not one to sugar coat things.

Re: New Project "R" thread

Looking good. Think you will still have it around sept?

I get home on some leave, and I might take a trip down south in the mach and check the car out.

Re: New Project "R" thread

Matt (member FloridaOrange) stopped by today and took "R" for a spin.
Also, over 22k hits on this thread. Unreal.
Today I spoke to a large Mustang garage (don't ask, don't tell)
about the 5.4 32V kit, and they had zero interest in this,
even though all the development is virtually complete.
As easily as this swap can now be accomplished,
I still don't understand it. (oh well)
Trust me, this deal is very cool and a pretty easy install.
On a properly prepped 32V car (Mach wiring etc.) and a good technician,
it can easily be accomplished in a day or 2.

Car drives real nice. Gotta get the exhaust leak fixed, a proper tune and some glass. Feels like it'd be a whole lot of fun to really open her up. :ORANGE:

Re: New Project "R" thread

Thanks.
My neighbor has a Viper.
Yesterday, I took him around the block in "R",
and he seems to think "R" would "kill" his Viper, even with a stock Navi long block.
If I wind up keeping and finishing the car, it will be a killer for sure.
It drives beautifully, and rides exceptionally smooth.

Re: New Project "R" thread

Just a minor update.
Things are pretty crazy here lately,
so I haven't had a lot of time to work on the car.
I am currently doing small things and buttoning up loose ends.
When the car started, I had no horn, no cruise control, and an air bag light.
Figured out that all 3 items go through the clockspring, tested it,
replaced the clockspring, no no more idiot lights.
Clothing hooks are in, lighted visors in and hooked up,
trunk latch fixed (needed adjustment),
and now only have 2 minor electrical items to diag.
I will be moving soon, and it looks like "R" is coming with me.
Still need rear glass, windshield, and passenger door glass.
That's it for now.
