As I keep my car in a Costco tent I use traps now.

Yes, we have customers use the RODAR II Ultrasonic Pest Repeller with great results in car ports, garages and even tents to protect cars. You would want to make sure the unit is installed in a corner higher than the car and pointing towards the area you believe the pests are coming in from. This will allow the sound to fill the entire tent.

Best thing I have used so far is Fresh Cab. Small packets of Christmas Tree smelling material that apparently is hated by mice. I tried all kinds of products and remedies when mice invaded my cars and this was the only one that seemed to actually work. They last at a max of 3 months. I sprinkle a few around the garage and put one in the glove compartment and trunk. If there is a good spot, I will even put one in the engine bay, but some cars are very unfriendly for that.
