New rotors

Has anyone tried these rotors? Anyone know of other rotors that may be better?

Re: New rotors

If you race or drive your car hard don't get drilled rotors

Re: New rotors

I Don't race or drive hard. She is my daily driver and since its my only car I try to take it easy. Don't get me wrong I do occasionally speed but nothing to crazy. Why not drilled rotors? Sorry I am not that knowledgeable when it comes to the different types of rotors!

They are prone to getting hairline cracks in them when used hard.

Re: New rotors

I bought similar ones from R1 Concepts, Premium drilled/slotted rotors. My mach is my work car (Police). It gets some hard usage. I have not had one issue with this brand. Going on 4 years with these rotors and still solid. paired with Hawk HPS pads. Look at their site and read their manufacturing details on the rotors. seems solid!
I never used Rotorpros but seen mixed reviews for them.

If you get real heat in the crossdrilled rotors, they will crack.

That's for sure. I get hours not years out of a set of rotors and pads.

Re: New rotors

No race track at all just spirited street driving...I don't suppose a hard stop from 80mph or two qualifies as cracking drilled rotors possibility territory does it? I have Baer Decelarotors & love the drilled & slotted look. No issues here in two years....I say for street driving go for drilled rotors, look nice!

I'm sure that you will be fine with drilled.

Re: New rotors

I ran those for over 5 years and man times slowing down the Mach from 120+ in the 1/4 and NEVER had a single crack, warp, or any other issue with them. I would not hesitate to buy them again if I owned a Mach.

For road course racing they may not hold up, but for my street car and times at the track they worked perfectly.

Thanks! That is what I thought! I love the bling & would hate to take them off.

I just ordered my rotors from them after reading great reviews and getting a really good price quote.

Nekasrof, exactly which rotors do you use? I see not reason to put inferior parts on my brakes and I know you use your brakes as hard as anyone on this board so I ask for your input.

btw, put the flsc in and you were right, best mod ever.

Re: New rotors

had gold zinc on my 01 (tropical green), wasn't a huge fan. Might set off differently on the torch red but I just stuck with the silver zinc.

It really depends on who makes the rotors and the process they use to drill any holes. Some companies cast the holes in and some drill them. The patterns that they use is even a factor. Matching the pads to the type of metal the rotors are made of is very important too. Many stock pads have a little bit of metal mixed in the pad compound and work fine with the stock rotors.Problems can happen when you change to a HP pads with the stock rotors. The higher metal content will cause more heat ,warping or scoring the rotor surface, causing overheated brake fluid and brake fading too. Brake cooling ducts that work can also be a major factor as speed increases. There is a rotor pad combo that is right for any type of event or speed . However the price you will have to pay may be too much, unless youre life depends on it.
