Mishimoto radiator swap

I'm no mechanice and would say I have only basic skills for working on my mach ( I did install the Roy's spacer on my own LOL) like bolt on stuff.

I am going to attempt to change my oem radiator to a Mishimoto aluminum radiator this weekend.

I am not sure how to refill the cooling system once the new radiator is installed.

What type of coolant for an all aluminum radiator?

Any info is appreciated, or should I pay to have it done?

I don't know if you've gotten someone to do it yet or not but if you haven't, don't! It's soooooo easy to swap out a radiator on these cars! The important thing is make sure you burp the system correctly! Again, that isn't hard either!

Thanks for all your input. Got sick and had to hold off. I guess I'll try it myself than!! I looked at a couple vids and I think I can handle it

Re: Mishimoto radiator swap

Removal and install is easy, but be careful not to damage the new radiator installing it. The new unit is thicker and it is a tight fit. Burp the system properly, because you can easily ruin your motor. A mechanic didn't add coolant to the crossover tube on a friends 03 cobra and he is now getting his motor torn apart!!

Re: Mishimoto radiator swap

I ended up not doing it myself because I had no pan or basin to catch the coolant mixture and didn't want to "upset" the Dark Side (neighborhood board).

I also ended up having to (replaced) fix a leaking steering rack so I had a Ford mechanic do the work on the side (at the dealership).

So all is good now. I just wish that nice aluminum radiator was more visible when the hood is up, it's a shame to hide such nice aluminum and welds LOL!

Thanks guys, for you all your inout/suggestions.
