Re: NASCAR thread

With using the same thread, we maintain a historical base that people can access so that they can look back at a time when all of the cars were different, Toyota didn't rule the tracks, and...oh, who am I kidding...this is gonna start sucking this coming year...

I think David Reutimann in the Toyota will win at Daytona. His car is running like it's on jet fuel.

Re: NASCAR thread

I predict Jimmy Johnson will cause a major crash at the Twins and then he'll get caught cheating in the race. NASCAR will then award him the Victory to assure he Three-peats the Championship!

Oh, like that's gonna happen???...the next thing you'll tell us is that Dale,Jr. is gonna leave DEI, and Joe Gibbs'll be running Toyotas...

Like any of that's got any chance of going down...

Don't know if you know, but the Morgan McClure race team (#4) has closed it's doors last month. They lost the Kodak sponsorship that they had for a number of years (Ernie Irvan, Sterling Marlin) and won several Daytona races. Another victim of COT & multicar- big $$ teams.

They lost Kodak a few years ago (after 2003 season I think). Co-sponsor for Penske now.

Sad though, but like you said, single car teams are doomed....

Re: NASCAR thread

Sure don't need to see the smaller teams fold. When it's all BIG teams or BIG money --- it will become BIG boring.

Sounds like MMM has some hope for being at Daytona with Mike Wallace. Best of luck to them.

Re: NASCAR thread

This is a big step towards franchise racing.

NASCAR needs to split up the big teams, get rid of the top 35 BS, and ditch the stupid freaking chase format. The knuckleheads had a winning formula and have screwed it up trying to get MEGAbig.

Local racing is more exciting and the competition is tighter in Legends and Thunder roadsters than MoneyCup racing. This might be the last year I can support CUP.

I met Crew chief Chris Carrier back in the late 80's when he was crew chief for the Rick "Wreck" Wilson- Food Country Busch car. Anyone remember Rick Wilson?

Looks like Steward and Kurt Busch have took up where they left off last year and its only practice. Somebody else needs to punch Kurt in the nose besides Jimmy Spencer. I predict somebody else will before the season is out.

Re: NASCAR thread

I actually like Kurt better than Stewrat but that ain't saying much.

I want to see Mark Martin improve his finish by 1 position this year in the 500.

Very weird this year indeed. But it actually makes it more interesting if you ask me lol. Though I'm sure I'll be bored with it as soon as they hit Vegas in a few weeks....

I happy...that was the best clip of Jimmy and Jeff I've ever seen, now if they'll only continue going the same thing for the rest of the season it might be worth turning on the boob tube for...

Make no mistake, Jr. is thrilled to finally be on a great team like Hendricks and to have teammates like Gordon and Johnson.

For you bashers of the #24 & #48 cars who are thrilled to see them wreck. The only way your less talented drivers your rooting for are going to win it is if those two cars are out. I for one want to see the best drivers still in the race. This way when one of the Hendricks cars(including Jr.)cross the finish line first it was not tainted. It was against the best.

As for Stewart and Busch. I love letting the drivers be themselves as Nascar says it's going to do. I have no problem with Stewart wanting to be the obese bad boy punk that he is. Or letting Busch be the whinning brat that he is. But when you start taking out cars like these two have done for years it has to end. I hope that Nascar sends a serious signal with these two jerks and levies a point penalty so severe that they won't recover this year. That should just about end this pathetic crap.

With that Go #24, #48, #88, and #17(yes I know that he is a Roush driver).
