Promotion 7oohp 3650 vs T56
Since i need a new tranny what should I go with? I have a full T56 transfer for 2500 available. Or go with a new 3650 from promotion?

What gearing in the t56? 03/04 cobra trans? The stock gearing in the cobras is pretty lame. You neither save gas in the top gears, nor accelerate quicker in the bottom gears.
Now, a couple of the other gear ratios put it leaps and bounds above the 3650 imo. |

T56 magnum for a car that needs to see street duty. Or a built auto. You are wasting time with anything else. Or just do a stock rebuild and be gentle with it.

I wouldn't go with a Promotion trans. I also wouldn't go with a T56 out of a 03/04 Cobra.

I'd go with a t56 also. Its a stout transmission.

What's wrong with the promotion trans? I was considering one.

Re: Promotion 7oohp 3650 vs T56
I say built 3650. Its cheaper than the t56 swap, better overdrive and doesn't have lame gearing.

Re: Promotion 7oohp 3650 vs T56
I have a built 3650 from Promotion and it's been working great ever since I put it in. Only thing is that there is some gear rattle below 2000rpm's in 4th if you start to accelerate. They say that a little bit of gear rattle can be expected and it's caused by the type of synchros (or something else I forgot) they use but does not effect reliability in any way. I mainly got it due to the price of a built 3650 vs price of a T56 swap. A built 3650 was quite cheaper and you don't really gain enough to justify the extra cost of going to a T-56 IMO.

What is your intended goal for the car. What type of driving do you do mostly. What kind of power do you make or do you intend to make. And obviously what does your budget allow. Those would be the considerations I would start with.
