Re: MIL question

I think you have to clear the code that exists before the problem is corrected...

Re: MIL question

You have to clear the codes first. Just disconect the battery for a few minutes.

Re: MIL question

Clear the codes at Autozone. Just ask them for their handheld and take it out to your car.... plug it into the computer, clear 'em out. wallah.

But, you did say you have your mils hooked up on the driver's side only? You mean your front and rear driver's side? You're supposed to plug them into the two rear O2 sensor ports. Your two front sensors should still be hooked up (you should have extensions for them if the stock sensors don't reach. I don't know the specs on your midpipe as far as length to the O2 bungs are concerned) in the first two bungs.

Have the codes checked, it might not be throwing a code for the cats if you have disconnected the battery and hooked up the MILS properly. I was able to clear a P1000 code by disconnecting the battery so I know it will clear anything else.

+1 on going to autozone or advance auto, get that code checked out.

He doesn't need Autozone or Advance. He's got me right around the corner and I can scan and clear any codes for him.

There you go, sorry I didnt read that. He should check what the code is though, its very odd that it would shoot a code with a MIL.

Re: MIL question

Some times you have to get a tuner or a tune to keep the CEL off. MILs don't work on all cars.
