Re: New Project "R" thread

Hey Birdman, just curious what kind of power this thing is putting out. Sounds like a good option for those of us who love torque.

Re: New Project "R" thread

I have not had it on the dyno.
When the car was at Steeda a month ago or so,
the tuner there guesstimated it at 340,
after a drive where he came back with a big smile on his face.
Only because I asked him what he thought it made.
Mind you, this is a stock Navi long block, Aussie intake, LT's,
and a guesswork tune.
The Ford Powertrain engineer that drove it
was stunned by the torque and the fitment.
That's good enough for me.

Re: New Project "R" thread

Finally got the time to install the Modified Aussie upper intake on the car.
I did have to put an IAC restrictor on it,
whch is strange, as the other intake did not require one.
Fired right up and idled, response is good.
I have (ugh) a header leak on the driver side though.
Have to fix that, or wait until the new motor comes
and fab it on the engine stand.
I do have to still add EGR to the upper lid.
Might do that tomorrow

Re: New Project "R" thread

You need to paint that thing a flat army green with flat black accents and wheels. Ever seen project f-bomb that HOT ROD did. It would look sweet and understated. One of the coolest projects I have been following!!!!

Re: New Project "R" thread

Lastest underhood pics.
Now has new final design upper intake, but still deciding on EGR.
Also waiting for shipment from Australia for Boss intake plaque for the lid.
Should I run EGR?
What do you guys think?
This is how the kit install will appear when finished.
(My camera is acting up today for some reason)

Re: New Project "R" thread

Hey Birdman,

Have you seen this yet?

http://karkraft.com/exotic_engines.htm

Scroll down 4 engines and Low and Behold. a Boss 290 available for sale in America at a pretty reasonable price!! Could save someone a LOT of time and probably a few bux with their swap. Just thought you or a potential customer might be interested. JD3
