45th Mustang Anniversary - OFFICIAL THREAD - 4/16-4/19/09
For those of you who attended the MCA's 30th Anniversary Show at Barber's in 2006. I have great news, the 45th Anniversary Show of the Mustang will be held at the same venue the weekend of April 19,2009. Plans are still in the works but we hope as many of you as can will make this event.

Re: 45th Mustang Anniversary
It is a great (and do mean great) venue. Good access, well paved, decent number of hotels within a reasonable distance, and a track to die for! The motocycle museum is incredible (over 1,000 bikes!). I'll be going back...whenever it might be!

Re: 45th Mustang Anniversary
Thanks for that correction, yes that would be 2009 and not 2007.
At this point our local club will be one of the host clubs and as imagined we are thrilled at the chance to help pull this thing off. As stated I'll try to keep everyone abreast of the things going on. |

Re: 45th Mustang Anniversary
Well it would be hard to improve on the 40th in Nashville, TN. Awesome job by all. I'm sure Barber doesn't have gravel parking. Redhorse, hope the info is acurate and sounds like it is.. Last I read from the MCA they were considering several locations and Indianapolis Motorspeedway was up for consideration. However, that didn't seem to make much sense, weather considerations in April, for Indy would be a huge concern....glad they re-thought that one. Looks like we will be up for a longer drive. Count us in....

Re: 45th Mustang Anniversary - OFFICIAL THREAD - 4/16-4/19/09
Got this today from MCA:
The website for the 45th should be online within the week. Please check www.mustang.org for updates. Sincerely, Kristie Moore-O'Gwynn MCA Office Manager I am a bit surprised that they are limiing the Participant portion to only 2,250 cars. Judged cars are limited to 250. We may want to look deeper into the Thurs. evening cruise as well as possibly a track event like we did last time. (That may be something Tony can help with) Also, I'd like to try to get more information on the 'Evening with Ford' for Saturday night. We did some cool things on our own for the MCA 30th, and they seem to go off pretty well. I'd like to see some similar get togethers on at least Friday night (Hooters or Logans?). Possibly both or more, depending on what they have to offer on Saturday.

Re: 45th Mustang Anniversary - OFFICIAL THREAD - 4/16-4/19/09
A couple of inputs, because of space as of now only 250 cars will be judged but this is still up in the air. The figure of only 2250 cars being allowed on sight is also still up in the air. As far as a registration form, we haven't even started on that yet. The lady who will be doing registration here has not created the application yet. We will be meeting with Ford in the next couple of weeks.

Re: 45th Mustang Anniversary - OFFICIAL THREAD - 4/16-4/19/09
Redhorse, if you go back to the IMBOC link a few posts back it gives you a download of what appears to be a very official looking registration form. It lists events, prices, official hotels and the figures I'd mentioned. It list a mailing address to send your money to as well. Might want to give it a look, and if there is a problem with it, then it's somethign we need to address if it is not a legit piece. I'm trying to get my MCA membership striaght now, and get my hotel on board so I can finalize my reservations. This is obviously going to be one popular event!

Re: 45th Mustang Anniversary - OFFICIAL THREAD - 4/16-4/19/09
I think that the requirement to be or join MCA will limit the numbers, which in my opinion, is a mistake. The great thing about these events in the past was the vast participation and the great numbers of cars that attended. Because this is a celebration of the birth of our great car Marquee, I would think that it would be open to all who wanted to come and bring a car (club oriented or not). I am surprised that Ford would agree to have this as a limitation.
Are the max numbers because of space limitations at Barber?

Re: 45th Mustang Anniversary - OFFICIAL THREAD - 4/16-4/19/09
I think Should be open to ALL mustang owners, weather they belong to MCA or NOT. Maybe they want to get the membership up, I think We have more members then they do.
