$5.00/gal Comming Soon Experts Say

Well I just saw the tread that said "Anyone Paid $3.00/gal for Gas." I know all of us laughed when we saw that... $3.00 would be very nice. I just paid $4.49 for premium last night... this morning it was $4.56... that $0.07 in just a few hours .

As a nation we need to be PISSED!!! This is outragous!!! A barrell of crude oil just went to $140.00 yesterday... it was $100.00 a barrell only 3 months ago. Experts on the news last night said that gas will be at least $5.00/gal by 4th of july weekend... they also said that when a barrel of oil reaches $150.00, gas will hit $5.50 . That means $80.00 fill ups!!!
I just thought it would be funny to look back at this thread in 2 years when gas is $8.00/ gal and cry.

Just to make us all more depressed... What are you guys paying for gas and what kinda gas mileage are you getting? Although, none of us should b!tch about mpg... we all bought Mustangs.

My highest price was $4.49 and I get about 15mpg (got 21 before the s/c).

need to start e-mailing your congressman, senators and anyone else you can think of and complain to them. we need to quit relying on foreign sources and go back to our roots and buy our own stuff from our own people.

when the gas goes that high, that won't be all that goes up, everything else will go up because of it.

Re: $5.00/gal Comming Soon Experts Say

Weve been paying 4.60-4.75 for diesel in the trucks at my rental store for the past few months. Costs us over 200 to fill each truck each day. Weve already raised our delivery fees twice and we are still losing money on it. Almost makes delivery service not worthwhile.

Here in NC they're talking about a tax break on fuel for the summer. Should knock 30 cents off. Not sure if that's really a great idea though.

Re: $5.00/gal Comming Soon Experts Say

just paid 4.19 on friday. $42.00 for 10 gallons The last tank i checked was 21mpg with the K.B. this was alot of highway, with dyno time and farting around with 3 cobras on the way back. i think that 23-24 is possible, i just like hearing the whine of the s.c. too much.

Re: $5.00/gal Comming Soon Experts Say

I spent $508 on gas driving 3,900 miles round trip from Washington to Iowa. Hell, that's only about $50 difference in what I would pay for a plane ticket back to my home, and I drove it.

Your not going to make any money off of me. I have a plan. I limit my drives to 50 miles then I fill up the car. Only costs $15. Take that buster.

I think you missed some of the news, thursday it went up as high as 10 dollars a barrel and settled somewher in the 7 dollar range. On Friday, it closed around 10 dollars higher then the day before. In 2 days, the price of light sweet crude went up nearly $17. I have not heard of any reasons for this spike. Fox business reporters were searching for some reason why the spike occurred and couldnt find anything.

Re: $5.00/gal Comming Soon Experts Say

We have the crappy dollar to blame for this as well. Man things keep looking worst and worst for the American economy these days. I don’t even want to think what is waiting around the corner. If we include the value of our dollar when rating the countries yearly growth it actually is around -15% for the last year. Things maybe have grown in dollars but are still worth less overall everywhere else.

Re: $5.00/gal Comming Soon Experts Say

While the $50 fill up is bad for my Mach 1, it's the $150 fill up when I fill my truck with diesel which I have paid upwards of 5.00/gal already, that really makes me cringe.

This is true. But we also cannot lose sight that Americans do a better job of supporting the Chinese economy than our own(and others for that matter). Also the ever increasing demand of oil in China is helping to drive these prices up.
