Re: gear install help

You at the very least need pinion bearings, the rest is up to inspection & condition of the used parts. Some shops replace all bearings if the vehicle has many miles on it. It's not a bad practice to do so, dont know about the spider gears though, i would only replace them if damaged or really worn.

Re: gear install help

this is the kit i ordered and did my install with.... we didnt need nothing else besides the gears of course.

http://www.americanmuscle.com/moinkit8re.html

its cheap at 35 Bucks. and comes with more stuff than the kit you ordered.

now if your car has like 90+K miles id recommend this kit which replaces everything.

Re: gear install help

How many miles are on your car? You shouldn't have to replace the spider gears unless they are really worn (ALOT of miles). I just rebuilt the rearend in my mach with 73K miles and the spider gears looked great. But it didn't really matter since I replaced the Trak-lok with and Eaton.
