Nitrous tune question

I just bought an SCT X3 tuner from bama tuning with the custom tunes for my bolt ons (catback, o/r x pipe, CAI). But now I am looking at buying a ZEX wet kit and would be spraying 75 or 100 shot. Would a new custom tune from bama be enough, or do I need to go to a dyno? Also, is it safe to spray a 125 or 150 shot on a stock bottom end?

Re: Nitrous tune question

125 would be fine if you got upgraded fuel. 150 is starting to push it.

i ran 75 shot on my cobra and it maxed my stock pump out.

i switched to my dual setup and ran with a 100 shot nx wet kit.

GET A DYNO TUNE!. I had my tuner send me a tune and it was close but nitrous has so many variables. last fall after about 4 bottles I noticed the car had this power surge feeling around 4k. well when the blower was geting dyno the past week. it would drop power right at 3800. pulled all the plugs and #8 was burnt right off. must have went lean at one point.

Re: Nitrous tune question

Shoot thats not what i wanted to hear, I JUST bought the hand held tuner and a dyno tune will probably be like $300. Is it possibly to run 2 separate tunes, one for nitrous and one for n/a?

You need the handheld anyway to have the car tuned.

Re: Nitrous tune question

Yes with an SCT you can have up to 3 tunes. I have a DD tune, a n/a drag tune and a nitrous tune.

Is it possible to use the nitrous tune for DD? Cause I might want to have some fun with it on the street and wouldn't want to be changing tunes all the time

Re: Nitrous tune question

yes you can. your car will be a little slower when not spraying due to the timing being pulled out though
