New Leather

Well, looks like were finally going to redo the seats and the carpet in the Mach1. Seems like the original Cross Weave pattern is out, and will have to be the PERFORATED Leather from CJ Pony Parts, or Latemodel Restoration from TMI. My wife is worried she'll get dinged during judging at MCA events, because the seats won't have the factory cross weave pattern. Will this actually be an issue during judged MCA events? I think the perforated style looks better myself. I hope someone will have the answer. What do you all think? Plus the interior to me seems to be a Dark Charcoal, but I have heard that our interiors are Black. I'm color blind anyway. Thank you ahead of time.

Re: New Leather

so TMI does not have the mach1 seat covers anymore? what about buying some whole seat assemblies off of ebay? There has got to be a way to get the original seat covers for the Mach1.... Sorry to hear that... I also love going to MCA shows.

TMI I guess sells the Mach1 Seat covers through CJ Pony Parts and Latemodel Restoration. I didn't try to go directly through TMI. But, that sounds like a good idea. It's just that there is no more Cross Weave for the center of the seats, but perforated style instead. Their seat covers still LOOK original at least.

Re: New Leather

I think you should ask MCA that question if you would get dinged. But in my experience with them you would probably get points deducted if you didn't have the correct leather on there. Or the other think that my happen because it is not stock you may get thrown into a modified category.

Re: New Leather

Thank you guys for the input. My brothers upholstery shop, 'Gotcha' Covered' saved the inserts and redid the side and top bolsters and saved the hard to find CROSS WEAVE inserts, and dyed them to match the new leather.
