Question Need Help Selecting a Big Brake Kit for 2003 Mach1

As typical of one of the forum's worst members, I have once again returned to the community in a moment of need. I am having a tough time deciding what brake components to purchase for my 2003 Mach1. I am looking to replace everything from pads to calipers to rotors and would like to have something that looks great and performs just the same. With respect to the Bullitt wheels I am running, up front are deep-dish 17x9" wheels with a 24mm offset and out back are 17x10.5" wheels with a 27mm offset.

Does anyone out there have any recommendations or perhaps research advise?

Re: Need Help Selecting a Big Brake Kit for 2003 Mach1

To be more specific, my challenge here is finding a front brake kit with a complimentary rear brake kit to go along with it. I am confused as to why this is such a pain. I am able to find front and rear kits for Baer but not Brembo. And at this point, I am leaning more towards Brembo based on what I've read on this board.

The best I can do in finding a complete brake kit is here with Wilwood:
Wilwood Superlite 6R Big Brake Front Brake Kit $2300
Wilwood Combination Parking Brake Caliper Rear Brake Kit $1400

Does anyone have an opinion on Wilwood and these kits?

Wilwood makes great stuff overall, but not alot of guys run them in the stangs.

One issue with big brake kits in the rear is clearance for 17" rims, as most do not fit without machine the calipers and such, same with the front.

What are you doing that you "need" (lol I know) 6 piston fronts?

I am running the brembo Cobra R kit on the mach in the front, with powerslots and hawk pads on the rear.

Some other options are the Roush big brake kits by Alcon (same as with Saleen), but they all require 18" rims if memory serves

I have the 2000 "R" brakes on my Cobra,
but they require wheels with more outboard clearance than stock Mach 1 wheels.
The improvement in braking is pretty dramatic though.

Are the fitment problems typically related to wheel diameter or wheel offset?

This is definitely a matter of want. It is fair to say that I regard appearance with the same importance as performance, if not more. This is why I am interested in front and rear brake kits that appear similar in design, as if they are part of the same kit.

Thanks for the information here. If all else fails, I will probably go the Cobra R route as it is commonly recommended to me.

Do either of you two have a picture of this setup handy?

Here is a picture of the Wilwood front brake kit I linked to above. This setup would compliment the color scheme of my Mach1 quite well. But obviously the kit is expensive:
