Re: Propane Generators??

I would much prefer to have a Propane than gas generator. I don't know about you but keeping a can full of gas scares me. Just make sure the tank is in good condition and you should not have a problem.

Re: Propane Generators??

Propane is fine. We used to have propane powered police cars. Only problem is propane has less energy per gallon than gasoline so the generator will use alot more to do the same job as a gas one. You will probably never have to change the oil though.

Re: Propane Generators??

The house (in the country) we moved to in the fall is heated by a propane furnace. We have a big a*s'd tank in the back yard.

I love the natural gas stove (cooking) we had at our previous home & had a propane line run into our kitchen (when we bought this place) and bought a gas stove (they come with the propane conversion kits).

Had a Generac propane backup generator installed. Has saved my arse 2x while working (I work from home) power went out. The Generac started up and within 20 seconds back online.

No issues with propane here.

Re: Propane Generators??

Thanks Guys.... I am so glad to hear of "good" things...
Must admit I was a tad bit worried... about them being safe. But heck I never knew they even use them in patrol cars... wow!
