coil overs vs lowering springs
I can't decide which route I want to go. I know you have more adjustability with the coil overs but is that the only advantage?

Re: coil overs vs lowering springs
there are other advantages just read up on maximum motorsports.
I have coil overs for the front and lowering springs for the rear.

Re: coil overs vs lowering springs
read the link Mach1z posted but basically the way a coilover changes the angles they can run a lower spring rate and still get the great handling so it rides nicer too. Be warned that crappy coilover kits can makes LOTS of noises as you go down the road though.

Re: coil overs vs lowering springs
Coil overs are just so **** expensive. Are they worth the price?

Re: coil overs vs lowering springs
i guess it depends on what ya want...most cars are lowered on normal old lowering springs and its fine. The coilovers are a step up from that and good ones arent cheap.
I already have the struts I would want to run coilovers and I want to set my own ride height. The added ride comfort is a bonus

Re: coil overs vs lowering springs
Here is one of the biggest things you need to look at. How much are you willing to/going to be adjusting and how often? If you just want to lower the car and that's it, it might not be worth the price. If you plan on racing the car and want to be able to adjust the heights for different tracks/conditions, then it's probably worth it.
With a traditional spring and a good double adjustable shock (rear) and a good strut (front) and can get a great blend of adjustment and performance. Unfortunately, ride height adjustment is not one you'll have (depending on what rear lower control arms you run - MM arms have an adjustable spring perch). the other thing is that much adjustability puts you into an area that if you don't know what adjustments to make, it can be difficult to make the car better. I don't your background at all, so forgive that comment if it was inappropriate. I learns how to tune suspension stuff by screwing my car up at the track and figuring it out on my own. Its a huge pain in the ***! I had way more adjustability than i ever should have when i was younger... Things to keep in mind.

Re: coil overs vs lowering springs
keep in mind that constantly changing ride height also requires another alignment each time.
I intend to lower mine as far as I can while still clearing my set of race ramps

Re: coil overs vs lowering springs
I have the UPR coilovers with MM caster camber plates with tokico shocks up front. Very affordable and no noise after I RE-installed it properly!

Re: coil overs vs lowering springs
I don't do any racing. I'm just looking for the most comfortable ride with the best stance.

Re: coil overs vs lowering springs
You also don't do any reading huh? I could have sworn someone above your post was trying to explain the added comfort of having a higher spring rate without a bouncy ride if you swap to coil overs. Oh and you can dial your "stance" in with the turn of a spanner wrench.

Re: coil overs vs lowering springs
Yeah I can read. I was just stating what I was looking for. I didn't ask in my previous post which one provided that, as I already read what they had posted.
