I like em, but shouldn't the pony be running forward... not backwards?

Re: Caliper Decals

Where'd you get those? Did you paint them first and just add the horsey stickers?

Re: Caliper Decals

Yes, I painted them with high temp engine block paint. I bought the decals off ebay.

Put the decals on, then sealed them with high temp clear coat.

Re: Caliper Decals

Backwards and I am sure it won't last there for long. That is a dirty, hot environment for a decal.

Re: Caliper Decals

I like 'em, but they'll slow you down since they're running against the forward motion of the car. You'll lose 1 horsepower from each wheel, for a total of 4.

Re: Caliper Decals

GRB60, ahahahah....

Sapper, several of my buddies have done the same thing with theirs and have no problems. Its all how you seal it. I put 4 coats of clear coat on it.

Re: Caliper Decals

I guess I misunderstood. You actually painted the caliper orange and applied the decal?

If so, the heat will get to it quickly. You should paint the caliper black (high temp paint), put on the decal, then paint the caliper orange(hi temp paint again), carefully peel off the decal, paint on high temp sealer. that would probably hold up.

Re: Caliper Decals

That is what I did, painted the calipers, applied the decal, sealed. Took photo

Like I said, several of my buddies in a local car club have done it with script letters and logos for their car type and have had no issues.

Re: Caliper Decals

I painted mine but now have the hi-temp stickers for another hot application. I have seen them on a few GT's and they do fine.

Re: Caliper Decals

Looks good - just running the wrong way =)

A buddy of mine did this on his GT - just printed the horse logo from online, xacto knifed it out, painted the caliper white, then put the printed/cut logo on the caliper with honey, painted the caliper red, let dry, rinsed off the honey stuck logo, then cleared the caliper. Worked well in his case.
