anyone running a crossover delete with a centri?

Looking for pictures of people running the On3/modular speed or MMR style coolant crossover delete with a centri in the stock location and an intake tube, not a screen (sorry littlemags lol)

just trying to see how people are running it as this will be coming up soon for me

Re: anyone running a crossover delete with a centri?

Started messing with this today... Not sure it's doable without looking like crap and being just about as much in the way as the stock setup. I need a 45 fitting to even try the two possible hose routing options for the pass side it I think the shaker bracket is gonna block one of them.

I really think is a bust... Gonna have to have the procharger crossover tube fixed to clear my fuel rail fitting on that side

Re: anyone running a crossover delete with a centri?

tempted to make the switch. I've got a coolant leak that I can't tell if its coming from the connections into the heads or the water pump seal. That pic does look pretty clean.

Re: anyone running a crossover delete with a centri?

called On3 today about the missing fitting, someone in the background seemed to know exactly what I meant so I probably wasnt the only one...also ordered 4 new 45 degree hose ends

Re: anyone running a crossover delete with a centri?

ok, well the 45 degree fitting will let the hose clear the blower pulley without issue, especially with how stiff the braided hose is. I can either come up over the pass side valve cover and down to the thermostat housing or go between the blower and alternator, underneath the shaker bracket. Im not sure which route I might take

The driver side head works better with a 90 due to the shaker stuff. The routing in the picture above cant be exactly covered but it looks like I could come close however I think Im going to route that hose down the front of the motor, over to the fan and between the fan and discharge pipe (above the little line that curves around for the high side of the AC).

Re: anyone running a crossover delete with a centri?

How did this all workout for you? Any finished pictures?

I'll be faced with a similar dilemma here soon for routing my setup so I was curious how it all finished up for you.

Its amazing how many hoses and lines are on the motor once you start these mods...I bet looks so much cleaner, and no more clamps slashes changing belts

Re: anyone running a crossover delete with a centri?

i will say the procharger and shaker stuff makes it a pain in the ***, it really limits how you can run things. The On3 supplied hose wont take much of a bend before it starts to collapse. I had bought some extra hose from someone else local and it seems to handle it a little bit better. I need to go back and look at the hose routing from the pass side head again though putting the shaker back in place. Thats going to help hide it a lot so I dont have to put quite so much of a bend in it.

running the lines over the pass side valve cover with the housing coming straight off the radiator makes for the easiest routing, I just hate seeing the hoses everywhere

Re: anyone running a crossover delete with a centri?

I know this may sound laughable but in my job I have to bend copper tubing to run coolant or hydraulic lines. I use an aluminum welding lead to plan my route , then match it up to my tube if I have allot of bends in a small area.Just a thought !

Re: anyone running a crossover delete with a centri?

hose from the driver side fitting to thermostat housing is done and where I want it. The driver side line is just kinda hanging there, its hooked up but I intend to zip tie it a few places to hold it where I want it. The shaker stuff is not bolted down the shaker isnt even snapped down on the mounts.

I used what I think is the procharger hose on the radiator inlet and cut the other end off (that would have gone to the crossover tube). I used a hole in the cooling fan to help zip tie the hose and thermostat housing up in place

lol, thats my running joke now is just to leave it in the engine bay, it seems like she cooperates more!

and its only the upper radiator hose and one from each head. The line from the pass side is gonna get zip tied up by the alternator harness and to the driver side line to tuck it up more and look cleaner. Im just not doing all that until Ive got it leak checked, burped etc...

Getting to the procharger idler is sooooooo easy now, plenty of room to rotate the tensioner with my short breaker bar and the clamps on the blower/first discharge tube are all easier too. If the car runs at a decent temp this will be a huge upgrade

Re: anyone running a crossover delete with a centri?

well...bought a cheap Might Vac coolant system tester for like $40 on Amazon, got it up to 5psi and found 2 leaks.

First is the pass side head where I figured it would leak...I installed the head fitting not paying any attention to the fact that I was short the fitting that threads into that giving you a place to attach a hose end to.

the plug I bought to plug the coolant return line hole on the On3 thermostat isnt quite right I guess because it was leaking too.

I will say that this is gonna be a great mod though, getting the belt off and blower off was a breeze! id just recommend installing the pass side head fitting stuff with the blower off so you can get a wrench on there to really snug it up

Re: anyone running a crossover delete with a centri?

also the mighty vac pressure tester seems to do a good job of burping the system for you as well, before it built up pressure it dropped the coolant level in the res from full to almost empty

I should have done a set-up like this on the mach with the D1sc, I swapped so many belts and would have been nice to have it a little more open.

Re: anyone running a crossover delete with a centri?

and for what its worth, it seems like On3 has kind of a bad wrap for customer service but they've treated me very well.

1) I either lost or was shorted a fitting when I bought the kit quite a while back. They sent it out no questions asked. When I called in on this I told em up front I may well have lost it (from what I could hear in the background it sounded like a known issue but still). I also told em I needed 45 degree hose ends instead of the 90s included in the kit due to the procharger and they sold them to me at a VERY reasonable price.

2) I called in today to verify what size plug I need for the coolant bypass line (when I bought mine they werent including a plug), the plug I bought at the hardware store didnt seal (pipe fitting instead of NPT). I got their voicemail, didnt leave a message 5 minutes later they called me back to ask how they could help. They offered to send me a revised lower half of the thermostat housing that had a different thread pitch and a plug included at no charge.

I want to fix my leak this weekend so I grabbed an NPT plug on my lunch break but its nice to know the option is there.

I originally bought the mmr setup but didnt like it. Then bought the on3 crossover for my V2-T trim.. I traded the blower and Sold the Crossover to "Thezebrajackson" on IG and he has a D1 procharged mach.. if your on IG look at his setup..

looked at his real quick on my phone, the way he did it is definitely a short run and pretty easy. Im satisfied with my routing just dealing with 2 small leaks.

I snugged the hell out of an NPT plug in the housing and its still weeping so letting them send me another one with the new design and includes a plug.

i took the pass side head fitting and insert out, wasnt thinking about how I had it in the vice and couldnt get it much tighter, still weeped just a tiny little bit @ 16psi on the pressure tester. Then it occurred to my ******* a better way to put it in the vice and I was able to get another turn or so on it, I think itll be fine now but not testing again until I get the part in.
