Installing Tri Ax Shifter in my 2003 Mach 1 - 2003-04 Mach 1 Registry Owners Club

When installing my new Steeda shifter I was removing the stock shifter and of course it didn't want to budge because of the old factory applied sealant. Following an install video I tapped it with a rubber mallet to get it off but now it looks like the whole assembly moved slightly before the shifter broke free. I'm assuming that that the base where the shifter sits is supposed to be level and not angled slightly toward the driver. Any ideas on how to straighten it?

Do you have pictures.
Honestly I don’t see how you could have done something to trans by tapping old shifter off, I would just install the new shifter and see how it feels.

Post pictures if you have chance.
You could check under see if you see something off from trans
It’s been years but I think they are slightly tilted toward the driver, not for sure but was just thinking. It has been since 2006 when I installed on our trans

Check your trans mount, if it is worn out enough the tail shaft of the trans can move around on the mount. Had this happen on my old 2001 v6.
