Re: RIP Chris Cornell

I really liked Soundgarden back in the 90's. The initial report I saw said suicide. I can't have any sympathy for people that do that.

ya that was all over the radio this morning.

nothing Ive seen gave a cause, claimed it was sudden and unexpected and would be working with the medical examiner to find the cause of death

Re: RIP Chris Cornell

I remember singing Black Hole Sun with a friend that sat next to me in 2nd or 3rd grade. That would be my earliest memory of Chris Cornell. He did so many great things with Soundgarden and Audioslave as well as his solo stuff. I'll miss him.

Another lead singer from my generation gone. This cover he did in 2015 is probably one of my favorite songs from him. It's intoxicating. https://youtu.be/IuUDRU9-HRk

Re: RIP Chris Cornell

He will definitely be missed. I read that he was tweeting about his next stage appearance only hours before, i find that strange. Like you said , no one knows the mind set of a depressed individual. Seasons , one of my favorites but maybe a window to the man !

Re: RIP Chris Cornell

I loved SoundGarden going up and I feel terrible for his family! BUT have NO sympathy for Chris. The guy is a coward and CONSTANTLY took the EASY way out in life. A lifetime of drugs and alky lead to his "depression" and then he take more DRUGS (Ativan) to alleviate his suffering! Till he finally decides to hang out with Aaron Hernandez!

I've been dealing with a rare kidney disease for the last 18 months. Their's about 20 side effects of this disease and about a half dozen different ways I can die from it. I've been dealing with it on my own the whole time. If anyone should be depressed, it's me. I'm not depressed at all. I don't belong to any support groups and I block out all the crap these doctors say about what can kill me. I get up and live each day as normal as I can. People that have life by the short hairs and piss it away by suicide are gutless.

Re: RIP Chris Cornell

while situations like yours can certainly cause depression, depression itself can also be a medical condition. Chemical/hormone imbalances can do a number on you. I would imagine all the years of drug use could have caused/contributed to that condition.

There's a good chance of that. A friend of mine did drugs in the past. It's screwed up some of his hormone levels. He now has to take anti-drepressents to stay normal. He's tried to adjust his medication on his own, but I've called him out on it and he's finally learned.

That being said, he's had thoughts of suicide, but would never act on it. He considers it chicken way out.

Re: RIP Chris Cornell

Once you go beyond smoking weed, who knows what the effects of doing coke, crack, heroin, meth, pills in the limitless amounts they can afford to do over the decades has on you. Still a complete waste.
