Check engine light help needed
My check engine light came on today. I have a predator and read a p0172 Bank 1 system too rich code. Can someone tell me how to use the predator to fix this. I'm completely lost and feeling stupid right now.
I have the predator tune installed, PHP intake spacer, PHP cold air kit, and Magnapack cat back side exhaust system on my 2004 mach. Thanks in advance for any help provided. Dave

Re: Check engine light help needed
Sounds like you may have an O2 sensor taking a dump on you. Clear the code and see if it comes back.

Re: Check engine light help needed
Cleared the code once and it came back. I have 18000 miles onthe car, when I cleared the code I actually had a bank 1 and 2 code. now I only have bank 1, but I have been driving more conservatively than before. Should I mess with the air/fuel ratio? I don't know which perameters to change with the predator. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks Dave

Re: Check engine light help needed
You still have the stock H-pipe? Don't see it in your sig.
Sound to me like your cats are going out though I doubt that the stockers would be. Either that or your O2. My SES light came on just two weeks after it barely passed the sniffer, basically said cat inefficiency when I had the dealer double check. Now I'm catless with MILs and all smiles.

Re: Check engine light help needed
Yeah, Stock H-pipe. I'm hoping that I an change something in the a/f ratio to fix this problem. I don't want to think the o2's went out this fast. Is there anything else that might fix this prob?
Thank dave

Re: Check engine light help needed
I just had the same exact problem. Re-tighten the clamps on your cold air. You have air getting in after the MAF. Also check the spacer, make sure your tightened down.
I had a loose CAI tube. I tightened it up and cleared the codes. Havent seen them since. |

Re: Check engine light help needed
Re-install your factory tune then immediately re-install your Predator tune. Mine did the same thing, if I just cleared it it would come back on withint 1-3 days, but re-installing the tune kept it off for 3-4 weeks, it's a pita, but I finally just got a custome tune and it never came back on.

Re: Check engine light help needed
Well, I tried tightening the CAI, and that did not help. I have new 02 sensors, but need to know which side is bank 1. Any one know?
Thank for the help Dave

Re: Check engine light help needed
Bank 1 is the passenger side, same side that cylinder 1 is on.
