Over two years now and 31,700 miles of smiles. Same to you! I still want a '12 Boss 302 in competition orange though. Hahaha!

Yeap a 351W. A very basic car with roll-windows and such. My friend I was talking about has long since sold his '95 Cobra R and bought a then new 2012 Boss 302. He had done a lot of bolt on parts and was putting down 374 hp to the rear wheels. It was his track car and did a lot of road course tracking in it. Now he does the same with his 2012 Boss 302 and he says it twice the track car his '95 Cobra R was.

Re: 2012 Boss 302 - POST all info here.

Compared to a new GT with trackpack, is there any real reasons to get a BOSS 302 instead? they seem about even on power, the GT is a few years newer...

Having driven both, there's not a lot of difference in overall performance, and I suspect that '18 will raise th ebar higher, but that said: it's a friggin' Boss 302!!!! It's not what you see every day driving down the street, in the high school parking lots...kinda' like a Mach 1.

Thanks for the info. Honestly, the BOSS appearance hasn't done much for me. I don't like the stock wheels and kind of find the strips.. ehhh.. The Mach1 while slow in comparison to a new GT still LOOKS badass due to the shaker. The BOSS to me just always looked like a GT with decals and wheels slapped on. It doesn't feel... special, in how it looks. To me anyway.

Re: 2012 Boss 302 - POST all info here.

The Mach 1 certainly stood out more from a plain GT or base car back in the day as much as it did in '03 and '04. The same things rang true with a Boss, other than the stripes, there wasn't much to visually differentiate the Boss from a Mach or non-Boss car, but the stripes gave a clue to what had been done under hood as well as the suspension. It was a track car on the street. Certainly the fact that '69 Bosses did not come with a hood scoop was a bit of a shock back then, but at least you could get a spoiler and louvers and Magnums, which non-Bosses did not offer. The newer car still throws back to the day when you could get something that you saw on track, more or less. And that's still a lot of what it's all about.
And I really wish they had done smethign different with the wheel package. It is a major paint to keep clean, and probably the least attractive element on the car.

I still would absolutely love a '12 competition orange, a '13 grabber blue, or a '13 school bus yellow Boss 302. They engine revvy, the exhaust sounds great, and it's set up for handling. Woohoo!

I'd rather have a Boss, but it's not because I dislike the S550. I test drove both, but not enough to get a fair comparison. I love the heritage of the Boss and the fact that it's not just badging and decals compared to a GT.
