Re: Anyone done a LSx swap into a mach yet?

LSX engines are definitely not boat anchors, LoL!!

The problem is that GM doesn't have anyone competent enough to design a decent enough car to put one of their badass engines into (except the C6 vette, of course).

I'm an N/A guy so GT aluminum block/heads with fr500 cams and a fr500 style intake made for the 5.4's with a nice 11:1 compression it would easily put out similar numbers to an LS3.

Re: Anyone done a LSx swap into a mach yet?

The "boat anchor" comment was a joke but other than the challenge, why do it. I personnally get bored with the constant stream of SBC/BBC engined hot rods and racers. It's more common to see a SBC in Ford bodied street rods than to see a Ford motor. I'm still looking for a suitable body but I plan to put a Ford motor in a late 30's Chevy coupe as a tribute to the cars my Dad raced.

I did see a Ford motored Camaro on Pinks several months ago.

I just think it's wrong to mix things up like that, I think it might be acceptable in CA based on recent court decisions.

Re: Anyone done a LSx swap into a mach yet?

yeah i agree. if you have a chevy you throw a chevy motor in it. you got a for you throw a beast *** for motor in there. i was watching pinks or pass time and some guy had a ford car with a chevy motor in it and someone asked him why he did it and he said he wanted to go fast. that pissed me off!

The Boss 315 5.4 4V in Australia already makes LS3-power, and it's not running as good of an intake or as agressive cams as you listed, and it also has a bit less compression than you listed.

I bet a variable runner FR500-style intake on the 5.4 4V would wake up the low-end a good bit too.

An LSX powered Mustang would be

Re: Anyone done a LSx swap into a mach yet?

There isn't a God... so no one is gonna strike me down.

An example of making power in an Ls1 is easily seen with a cam only setup...
Trex v.2 made 451rwhp cam only... ROFL, never seen any 4vs do anything close to that with heads, cams, and intake.

I think it would be awesome but I'm also not some brand loyal crazy person like some people out there. Fast is fast and the LSx is one hell of a motor.

I'd like to see a 281ci LSx compared to a 7litre 4V mod motor.

I think that guy forgot to mention an L92 headswap or something. I've seen "bolt on" LS1s run low 10s, of course "bolt-ons" in Chevy-world means ported heads, cam, N2O, in addition to every bolt on known to man.

It's thunderracing's white t/a... the car got torn down after running 10.4Xs on the stock longblock with the trex v.2 cam. It's not bs, but the car does weigh next to nothing. It has stock 241 casting heads.

When is ford actually gonna do something cool like that?

I'm losing hope because chevy has the bigass motors and ford 4v's are stuck with small bore spacing, not much to stroke and ridiculously expensive aftermarket.

Re: Anyone done a LSx swap into a mach yet?

id be much smarter to run a 351W than an lsx....a 351 can easily make the same power an lsx can...shoot...how about a 351C...yum
