aeroforce interceptor

Hi all,

so I have my aeroforce interceptors and some extra sensors being oil pressure and boost.

Both need a 5v source.

So I got the 5v regulator and a mini Add-a-circuit mini rated to 10A.

So looking for the best where there is mini 10A to insert the add-a-circuit. Any ideas!?

Thank you!

I used the slot for the convertible top in my car. I have a coupe so it was an open slot.

Re: aeroforce interceptor

Ok great!

I see the top convertible switch in the cabin fuse box.

The manual says 15A fuse and the mini add-a-circuit is rated at 10 - is it OK to put that in its place or will it cause issues?

Also when I looked at the fusebox, the little add-a-circuit does not seem to fit into due to the shape of the unit?

Thanks!

The amp rating is the limit for that circuit. You'll be fine. The add a circuit should plug right in. There might be more than one design.

Re: aeroforce interceptor

Last night I finally plugged in the interceptors minus all the sensors. I was holding off until I have everything I need so I could do it all in one weekend, however decided to just set up the dual gauges in the ODB2 port to have a play.

This is now causing me an headache.

I plugged the ODB2 port into the car and without the key anywhere near the ignition (off completely) they fired into life for setup. Thought it was a bit strange as thought they only come on during ignition on or engine running?

So I set it up to select a couple of stock parameters, batter and rpm. They seemed to reboot then it told me "annunciator not set up" and then briefly showed the battery and rpm label then shut down.

When I started the car they did not come on! I pushed the button on each and they turned on. But did the same thing, show briefly the words battery and rpm then shut down!?

Whats could be going on!?

The back of the items say FD102 V2.8 PAT PEND and FD101V2.8 PAT PEND.

The box said "53902 - Aeroforce Dual Interceptor Gauge (96-04 All)" with a reference to 04 Mach 1.

Thanks again.

no clue on that one, never had that happen before. Id send an email to aeroforce if it were me, they usually respond pretty quick

Re: aeroforce interceptor

The gauge is just telling you that you don't have the LED lights set to come on. If you go in and turn them on then the gauge will tell you the annunciator is set up. I know when I unplug mine then plug it back in it tends to flash on for a few seconds. I figure it's reading power from something. And then when I start the car it can take up to a minute to come on. I talked to a friend that had one and it acted the same way.

Re: aeroforce interceptor

but mine shut down straight away? And don't turn on at all when the ignition or engine turn on.

No readings are given full stop.

Re: aeroforce interceptor

Then I'd say you have an issue with the gauge itself and you need to call Aeroforce as DSG mentioned. I've heard about them sending the gauges flashed with the wrong software.

Re: aeroforce interceptor

They can act a bit funny like that, but give them a chance. Sometimes they turn right on, other times it takes a minute. Mine always comes on briefly when plugging it in and then turns off. Normal. Don't worry about the annunciator message, mine has said that since day one. Doesn't affect anything.

Re: aeroforce interceptor

I did decide to be patient. Left the car ignition on for a few minutes and nothing. Then start car up for 5 minutes and still nothing.

If I unplug and plug back in it loads up and then turns off. Very strange!

Re: aeroforce interceptor

Once the car is running push a button on the gauge for a second and it should power on, see what happens

Re: aeroforce interceptor

You have the wrong gauge. You state that yours is FD102. I just checked my box and mine says FD201.

Re: aeroforce interceptor

I told Aeroforce the numbers on the gauges and showed them an image of the ODB2 connectors.

They said I have the wrong cables, so sent me some new ones.

I am just waiting for them to come through some time this week. So fingers crossed.

Re: aeroforce interceptor

New wires came.

I had to pay more money as customs seized them and made me pay £15.60 ($19.98) to release it.

But they work, so gauges are now one less problem to worry about!
