Happy with my 2003 Mach

Bought this car last year from original owner with 13,500 easy miles on it & changed all fluids right away , MGW shifter & JLT -CAI.... the more I drive this car the more I love it.....runs & handles like new....a lot of fun on our windy foothill roads here in northern Calif.....I'm sure the Cobras are awesome too if you have an extra $10,000....but for $16,000....I'm very satisfied....I drove a 2015 GT the other day & it was nice but too expensive.....my first mustang was a 1972 Mach1 & then a 1986 GT.....this 2003 is definitely my favorite

Re: Happy with my 2003 Mach

We lived in Roseville for 21 years, but now live in SunRiver. Bought our Mach brand new from Future Ford Roseville in Sept. 2003. Love the car today as much as we did when we bought it. Cobra's are faster, but Mach's are cooler.

I'm happy with mine as well. I'll be honest, I really want something newer, or a classic Mustang. I test drove a Boss last summer and really like those. The GT500's are too expensive for me, as are the new Mustangs. I don't want a plain GT, I like something more limited production. I'm willing to spend $30k for a classic Mustang of some kind. It doesn't need to be a special or numbers matching or anything like that. I'm sure it will be hard to find something that is clean enough to take and enter car shows, so that might just be a dream lol.

If I keep the Mach, I'll upgrade the brakes and some other suspension parts. Then, I'll continue with what I originally planned.. cams and upgraded rear with 4.30's and just have fun with her.

Re: Happy with my 2003 Mach

I did a 2,000 mile roadtrip last week in my Mach. It was friggin' great. Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and South Dakota are all 80mph speed limits. I was going 90+mph through all those states. The time and miles just flew by and the Mach ran smooth.

Re: Happy with my 2003 Mach

Yup. Same here. The car always manages to put a smile on my face. Not many cars get as many approving looks or thumbs up.

I had a 73 Mach 1 and even though it was my first new car and holds a special place for me, this current Mach 1 is my favorite.

Re: Happy with my 2003 Mach

I've said it here more than once, my 2013 Boss 302 was bought to supplant not replace my Mach 1. The more I drive my Boss, the more I enjoy the Mach 1. I've thought seriously about buying a low mileage Mach. Not to store and dust, but to enjoy from new again. Wish I could go down to the Ford dealer and buy a new one all over again...maybe with Coyote power...

Re: Happy with my 2003 Mach

I love my Mach also. Found out tonight that it's much stronger then my 2000 GT I sold. Making a turn at a light and hit the gas, the rear tires spin and slide out from under me. I thought it was going to be one of those Mustang Week scenes......where the mustang hits the curb, another car or crowd. I regained control about 2 feet from hitting the center divider. I'm glad there was no police around, but it scared me a little.

I think this engine & transmission is a pretty reliable , fun combo...I like the smaller size also more room in the garage....not too much technology...kinda old school

Aside from the cold I'm sure it would be great. Most midwestern states are just dusty.

That's why I'll never live there again. I was born and raised there, born in Sacramento and raised in Fresno. Moved away when I joined the Air Force and never looked back. Still have family there, great place to visit.
