Question about: Summit 15X8 Star wheels

I just ordered my Summit Star wheels for the rear.

http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...3&autoview=sku

They are back ordered so I have time to change them. I am now wondering if I ordered the correct backspace. You can get a 5.50 or a 4.50 backspace. I can not find the thread where I was told which backspace to order in combination with a 3/8s spacer to fit over stock rear brakes.

I ordered:

SUM-521-5866PS
Rim Diameter (in): 15 in.
Rim Width (in): 8.00 in.
Backspacing (in): 5.500 in.
Offset (mm): +25.00mm

Should I have ordered the 4.5 backspace?

I did some searching and it looks like the 5.50 backspace is what I need but still would like some feedback to confirm.

Re: Question about: Summit 15X8 Star wheels

Either one will work, but the conventional wisdom is to get the 5.5".

It puts the wheel a little further into the wheelwell, but has less of a dish.

Re: Question about: Summit 15X8 Star wheels

Which one with a 3/8ths spacer would not require grinding of the calipers or would both be ok?

My 275/50/15 MT DRs are here and the Summit Star wheels will be here Wednesday. I plan on doing a test fit this weekend and will post pictures.

Re: Question about: Summit 15X8 Star wheels

The 5.5 will hit the banjo bolt on the brake caliper if you`re using stock mach rear brakes. The 4.5`s will fit with a 1/4 spacer. I switched to gt rears and 5.5 bs the fit is much better than the 4.5`s. With the stock rear brakes and a 15x8 4.5bs and a 1/4 spacer the MT 26X10.5`s were almost even will the wheel well.

Re: Question about: Summit 15X8 Star wheels

You will still have to grind a little off the sides of the calipers and a little off of the banjo.

Re: Question about: Summit 15X8 Star wheels

Wheels came today. Test fit with 3/8s spacer shows I will need to grind on the banjo a little bit. Plan of doing that this weekend.

Re: Question about: Summit 15X8 Star wheels

Did a little grinding on the banjo tonight and mounted the wheels and tires. Perfect fit with a 3/8th spacer. Pictures will be posted this weekend.
