But they won't build a Mach 1
Took our Mach out for the Sat. morning coffee and pastry with the Wife. We always pass by the Ford dealership , but today we decided to stop and look at the new Ranger. While we were looking at the trucks, I noticed what appeared to be a Bullitt Mustang. Sure enough it was, and sitting with it were three more. They all had stealership mark ups on them. Asked how long they have had them and was told about eight months. Salesman was up front and said "I guess anyone who wanted one already bought theirs". Three times a charm, but they won't build a Mach. And I don't mean Electric or Hybrid!

Re: But they won't build a Mach 1
Dealership where I bought my GT two weeks ago has 9 Bullitts there collecting dust.
They are great cars, but the 48k+ the dealerships are asking for them is just too much. Even if Ford were to come out with another Mach1 (Mustang version) I doubt they will be priced for us mere mortals to be able to afford...

I’m very fond of the Bullitt’s of all generations but I’d also like to see the Mach 1 get another generation under its belt.

Re: But they won't build a Mach 1
Funny, after telling that sales person good luck selling those Bullitts. They have a new internet add with no markup and a 3000 below MSRP. Coincidence, maybe!

Re: But they won't build a Mach 1
In the US market, supply and demand have been balancing out for a few months now. When I got my '19 Bullitt, I paid MSRP which I was willing to do because I didn't want to wait. I suspected there would be price reductions within about 6-8 months after the start of production.
In the book I co-authored with Scott Hoag, formerly of Ford Motor Company and one of the engineers who worked on the '03/'04 Mach 1, there was some discussion about what if Ford were to produce a 6th generation version of the Mach 1. Scott talked about trying to meld the functional attributes that are important to the '03 and '04s with the current styling. The only thing we've heard regarding "Mach", as you know, is the electric SUV, which is a far different brand proposition. I too would love to see an S550 Mustang Mach 1, although it would be interesting to see what would be done in the powertrain. By the way, the '19 Bullitt is a fun car. It's my second S550 car, and they have definitely come a long way from the 4th generation Mustangs in terms of performance attributes. However, the SN-95s are definitely a blast to drive - very authentic and visceral in comparison. I really missed that shaker view, so I am really reminded of how much fun they were and still are.

Re: But they won't build a Mach 1
Here in Fresno there are no less than 7 Bullitts at one of the local dealerships. All priced well over $50,000. 2 black ones and 5 green
If they build a new Mach 1 I suggest the 5.2 liter out of the GT500 naturally aspirated making about 500 HP. I'm guessing that won't happen till the GT350 goes away or gets another 40 HP |

Re: But they won't build a Mach 1
My dealer has this Bullitt on the floor ...USED!...with 22 miles on it & up for sale.....only a couple thousand LESS than a NEW GT350 beside it! (Not an R)

Re: But they won't build a Mach 1
They have saturated the market with Bullitt Mustangs, this time 3 is not a charm. Maybe Ford should build what people want.
