Re: Carlisle All Ford Nationals - Mach 1 Registry Meet 2009

Why were you in disbelief of the number of machs. I said we normally get 25-40+ every year.
Yes, I think I counted 43 machs in our area too!

Bill - Glad you made it home safely.

See everyone next year!

It was nice to meet you and your faimly. Bill H. gave me the tip about a big straw hat to beat the sun. Works GREAT.

Sure thing April, I dropped by the MRT tent a couple of times but kept missing you. I wanted to get my Sunday morning hug and then my good bye hug also.
You're just going to owe me an extra one for next time.

As always I took more pictures of cars that people and when I get home and look at them I always wish I had gotten more of people. Okay, next year we have to make an effort to get more pictures of people.

Re: Carlisle All Ford Nationals - Mach 1 Registry Meet 2009

The crate motor did get old after a while and I had some mud at my parking spot but the worst thing about my corner parking spot was the Dyno. It wasn't the noise that bothered me. It was the mud and small stones that came flying off one of the trucks tires as it was being dynoed. I realized what was happening and went over and told them about it during the first run. I yelled at the guy and he said "Oh... OK" and proceeded to continue with another run. I then got a little pissed off and told him to shut it down and asked for his ins. companies name and #. He gave me some lip and he found out how I felt very quickly. They shut it down and put up a tarp. I'll be writing a letter to Carlisle Productions. I found it amazing that they have it set up in such an unsafe manner.

Well when a tire is on that dyno, 5' off the ground, spinning at 3000RPM, chucking stones 50' is easy!

Re: Carlisle All Ford Nationals - Mach 1 Registry Meet 2009

You are correct Bill, it would be more like 7000 rpm. you are crazy for not voting for yourself. Thanks for the vote. Yes, the corner spot is always the best show spot. I have your trophy. Maybe I can deliver it to you with that case I owe you for saving my canopy and the blow off valve you gave me 2 yrs. ago !

Sorry I missed it this year, still stuck in China. Sarai said she talked to a few of you, I find that strange as quiet as she is. Glad you had a good time, I will settle for looking at the pictures. Maybe next year.........

She said she talked to the guy in the straw hat so that had to be you Bill....

Yeah Dave, that was me. She came up and gave me a big hug and we talked for a few minutes about you and kids. Her one daughter is very tall for her age. Motherhood agrees with her, she looked beautiful. She said she's due again in August around the same time my Son's wife will be having our 2nd granddaughter.

When all the grizzly grey-haired old guys stood around reminiscing about the good old days we missed your inputs (LOL). As I have said before, Carlisle is more like a family reunion to me .... only it's with people I like (ha ha).

Start making plans for next year and we'll see you there.

Dave,

Thanks for the info. I'll send him a letter. I think I'll also mention the class listing should be "2003-2004 Mach1", Not 2003 & UP Mach1

I'm going to ask Mr. Markko why there was a Chevy powered street rod in the Invitational cars in building T.
