Need some help troubleshooting, I have a 04 Mach 1 and it will run but when you give it gas it bogs to the point it chokes down. hoping its something simple. Any help is appreciated.

Re: need help troubleshooting

My first guess would be fuel delivery issue, but without more details it will be difficult to assist. Are there any codes, any other symptoms you can tell? Have you done/checked anything else?

Re: need help troubleshooting

I really haven't had a chance to look at it yet. I need to check the codes on it. I just went out to crank it up and it had a rough idle and when I went to give it gas it started dyeing out. I'm hoping it is just a sensor or something like a quick fix. Wasn't sure if this was something common with them.

Re: need help troubleshooting

Could be as simple as a fuel filter... But if you have a MIL on then need to get the code.

Re: need help troubleshooting

Guess would be dirty MAF, fuel filter, or FPDM but as others said, hard to pin point without more detail.

Re: need help troubleshooting

Check the fuel pressure; you can do this at the test point on the fuel rail with a mechanical gauge or if you have a ODBII reader I believe it is a test pid. Does the pressure significantly drop when you apply throttle? If so, change fuel filter and re-test. If still happens then either fuel pump or FPDM would be my guess. The FPDM is the quickest swap but throwing parts at it can be expensive. Fuel pumps are known to go bad if the car sits without being ran.
